Now that I liked.

Very 'Burnout' ;-)

Nice close shaves at 3:25, 6:00 and 6:50 IIRC. And a lot of woken up
pigeons.

Nice. Still, looks a lot faster than it probably was as the camera is
mounted so low and it just sounds fast. Normal everyday driving in Paris
IIRC.
If you liked that you might also like the opening scenes from Luc Besson's
'Subway', although they're not 'real', I found myself with a Pug 205 GTI not
long afterwards :-)

Exactly.

The official line is that the pictures aren't sped up.

But the soundtrack certainly is - watch it on mute, and it feels so much
slower. Now think about the sound - it just doesn't fit sometimes.

Real-time display with video vs google map of Paris.

From another site ... The french wikipedia entry is interesting. It
contains an anecdote saying that an assistant was supposed to watch the
only 'very' dangerous intersection for which they had no visibilty at
all. The assistant had a walkie-talkie to warn the driver if there was a
problem at that intersection. After the movie was shot and he comes back
to pick up the assistant and he sees him sitting trying to repair the
walkie-talking that had broke just at the beginning of the filming...

Pete.

That was certainly my impression. A lot of the time the car sounds like
it's flat out in top gear and yet the speed differential between it and
other moving vehicles just doesn't seem great enough. Certainly doesn't
appear to be going anywhere near 140mph as claimed.

What, me cynical? ;-)

Tim
