VW Golf Mk III 1994 - speaker upgrades by
spencer
Hi,
I wish to upgrade the speakers on my VW Golf Mk III Driver 1.8 3dr (1994)
and am looking for some advice.
Is this an easy job - and how do I go about removing the existing speakers.
Thanks for any help

Recommended manual for 1991 Golf? by
zoara
Just bought a dead cheap 1991 Golf so wasn't very surprised when it
decided it wouldn't start any more.
I'm familiar (though not an expert) with Beetles - the aircooled ones -
but have no idea of where to start with more modern cars. I'm after a
manual that gives orientation and basic concepts in an easy-to-follow
style; what sits where and why, and how to troubleshoot problems.
Is there...

I was talking to a friend today and he told me GTi's had bee sting aerials
and if the aerial is mounted on the wing then its a replica and not the real
thing?
True or false?
Thanks!

maatt
Hi
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
I own a '95 mk3 gti - I do not know what some things are in my boot on the
near side.
I wonder if someone might take a look at the photos I have taken and
identify what the thins are. (I have circled them with green).

Golf Mk4 - How to remove centre console by
banzai
Anybody have any links / details for the above. I need to gain access to the
rear of the stereo (more so than just pulling the stereo out) so that I can
remove the control unit for a mobile phone hands free car kit.
TIA

1991 Golf won't start. by
zoara
I bought a cheap (200 quid) 1991 Golf 4+E a couple of weeks ago, so
wasn't that surprised when it stopped working. The previous owner told
us it was due for a service but I ended up driving it more than I should
have before looking at it, and I think I killed it.
I've only ever tinkered with Beetles before, so this "engine in the
front" business is alien to me. Note that I haven't had chance to...

Water leak into passenger side footwells in Mk1 Golf by
Fred
Hi
Recently bought a 20 year old Mk1 Golf from an Aunt who'd owned the car from
new and only put 40k on the clock - honest!
She kept the car garaged 24/7 and when we bought it, it was as dry as a
bone. Unfortunately over the last few weeks we've had some heavy rain and I
now find that front and rear passenger nearside footwells are starting to
fill with water.

Golf Mk3 Power Steering by
Grendel
I think I need to tighten the power steering belt of my mk3 (1992) Golf 1.8
CL.
I've got the Haynes bible but it doesn't point out the location of the belt
or how to tighten it. I'm still a relative tinkering novice but learning
quickly.
Can anyone enlighten me as to where the belt is and what the procedure is?
Thanks

VW Golf III service indicator by
U. Genzmer
Hi,
Can somebody please tell me how to reset the service indicator in a Golf
III, 1995 (4 cylinder).
There should be steps to reset for OEL, IN 1 and IN 2. I think it can be
done with the little set buttons for the trip odometer and/or the clock set
buttons, but I am not sure about the sequence.
TIA,
Ulrich

synthetic and mineral oils don't mix(?) by
andy
As somebody who uses synthetic oil in my Corrado G60, but who sometimes
mixes synthetic with mineral oil in my wives TDI Passat - I was alarmed
to read that synthetic and mineral oils don't mix:
http://www.turbodynamics.co.uk/useful.htm
This company come well recommended, so I'm reluctant to dismiss the
comments. Any (preferably informed) views??

Golf Gearbox lumpy when cold by
Ken
The gear change on my mk3 Golf diesel is pretty awful when the car is cold,
but improves considerably if I drive around a bit. The car had a full
service in Aug 2003 so would that rule out transmission oil??
This is my first Golf and first diesel so any help would be much
appreciated.
TIA
