MK1 Golf Ignition Auxiliary position? by
ron
Does anyone know if the MK1 Golf (1983 Driver model) has an auxiliary
position on the ignition switch?
If so, do you know where power from this can be picked up for powering a
radio (and wire colour).
Thanks

T4 transporter not starting, V. confused. Please help! by
mball
My VW T4 Transporter has began refusing to start. When I turn the key in
the ignition nothing happens whatsoever. All the dash lights come on and
the coil light goes out after the right sort of time but the engine isn't
turning at all. There had been problems with the battery to starter motor
cable in the past so I've replaced that but still nothing. Does anyone
have any ideas as to what could be...

Any idea where I can find a template for one of these? I can't find
any under £120, and thought I might have a crack at making my own.
Unless someone knows of one cheaper!

2006 Passat Key Battery Replacement by
Andy Cook, G4PIQ
I have a 2006 Passat Estate with keyless entry where one of the keys now has
a flat battery. I've had a look at prising open the casing and pushed as
hard as I dared without getting proper instructions. Any hints on the right
place to prise these apart.
Many Thanks,
Andy

Vibration in clutch pedal by
James[_2_]
mk4 golf 1.4 2002
A coil pack recently went and changed that. After that I noticed some
virbations in the clutch pedal and in the gas pedal not so much though in
the gas pedal. The biting point is beyond half way up of travel of the
pedal.
Taking a wild guess but I'm guessing its the clutch on the way out after
60k.

Car Prices by
nico
Cars are a big investment. Since buying a car is relatively a long-
term investment, many people want to make an informed decision about
the latest prices of all models of cars before deciding on any one.
Car prices are likely to change quite often, depending on the market
conditions, introduction of newer models, competition, demand, and
many other factors. It is thus important to know the most...

HT leads and stuff by
Angus Manwaring
I bought a Quantum pack of replacement HT leads for my Mk 3 1.8 CL Golf,
months ago - possibly more.
I finally got round to fitting them today, and while the 4 HT leads are
fine, the (can't remember the name) lead that comes down to the erm...
distributor is too short. Taking it back is not an option now, and I'm a
bit anti paying out another 40 quid for a complete set. Is it possible to
just...

Mk2 Golf 1.3 valve/'rocker' cover gasket change by
Part timer
How difficult should removing the top/cam/valve/rocker cover on the VW
1272cc engine (code=2G)? My mum's 1991 Golf went near the main dealer
this week (yeah, I know!) That unrelated job was done OK (should be
for the money!) but the "free visual inspection" flagged up an oil
leak around the top cover that they want £157 for top cover, gasket
and labour. They ignored the fact that the oil filler...

MK2 Golf tailgate loom by
Doki
It seems that one of the lamps that isn't working on my tailgate may be down
to the wiring rather than the bulb - I've swapped bulbs but I'm yet to check
the voltage with a multimeter. Anyway - does anyone know if the wiring runs
around the bottom of the boot / rear panel, or does it come straight from
the fusebox, under the roof lining? Are there any connectors which commonly
pack up?

Polo rear riper kit by
Goofee
I've been thinking of getting rid of my rear wiper on my mk4 golf and
putting a polo one on ?
Its a straighforward swap and looks neater (sad I know) just wondering if
anyone had any part numbers and costs for that.
I believe I need the wiper arm, blade, and cap.
Cheers

2003 Polo 1.2 : air filter removal by
seej
A bit embarrassing this - how do I remove the cover to replace the air
filter?
I've removed two screws at the front of the housing and one at the
back but this doesn't seem to enable me to remove the cover - or even
loosen it.
I'm sure that there must be a few clips that I can't see or locate.
Any help gladly accepted.

Brake pipes - MK2 Golf by
Doki
I'm trying to swap my brake pipes (as in the metal ones) on the rear beam.
I've got the hoses off at the caliper end, but I can't get the brake pipes
off the hoses under the beam, near the mounts / bushes. The driver's side is
nearly rounded off and the passenger side is almost completely inaccessible.
Any ideas on how to get them undone? I don't really want to use the blue
spanner as it'll...

Car key light blubs by
Oscar
Just brought a new battery for the bulb in our Polo key, but it still
will not work. I think that the bulb has gone. Does anybody know
where to buy replacement bulbs from. I can't seem to find anywhere
that sells them.
Thanks

2000 Passat TDi turbo failing. by
KPR
When I accelerate the turbo seems to cut out at about 3000rpm and there is a
huge loss of power from then on. The fault seems to correct itself when I
switch off and leave it for a time. Real pain this loss of power as it comes
in handy when having to overtake.
Anybody help me with this.

Girlfriend has moved my MOT certificate by
Simon Finnigan
Hi all,
stupid question time. While tidying up, the girlfriend has put my MOT
certificate somewhere safe. So safe infact nobody can now find it! :-) It
was done before I got the car, and I don`t know what garage it was done at.
It was a new style electronic one - is there an easy way to find out when
that certificate runs out, because I forgot to put it on the calendar.
And yes, feel...
