VW Golf Mk 4 Heater Not Hot Only Warm by Richard1001
I have a black GTI 2.0 2000 plate vw golf. I have had it through the summer and the a/c works well on cold but I have noticed now coming to the winter months that the interior heater will at best only blow out warm air and not hot. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I need to repair/fix? Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Thankyou -- Message posted using...

Golf '94 judder problem by Angus Manwaring
Hi all, Can any mechanical Merlins out there tell me what's gone wrong? :) My car has started juddering (missing?) quite badly in the last couple of days. Pulling away from a roundabout or going up a hill, and its pretty bad. Hills that I was able to roll up in 5th, now need 3rd, and I'm not a fast driver, this is just gentle driving. The car:

Brake advice by James[_2_]
Coming up to needing to change my front brakes on the 1.6 2001 golf and was after some advice on what products to use ? I'll be getting what I need from GSF, I see they have drilled brake discs are these any good never used them ? I read they may be noisey at low or may have been high speeds I forget which, they have the brembo max disc in store they said it was popular which doesn't make it...

*~@^"! Polo by 4x4v6
Hi all My wife has an 02 Polo 1.4. I have had the bonnet up once or twice to put oil and water in but that's about it. Today a silly light has come on and the engine is running rough. Give it a try and obviously a plug or lead has failed and it is only firing on three cylinders. No problem hoik the bonnet open and check the plugs and leads. Not exactly rocket science is it. Question :

Where do you get yours (gsf?) by James[_2_]
I was wondering where you guys get your parts and stuff from ? I use GSF and eurocarparts but unaware of any other VAG sort of suppliers ? Be grateful for any links to reputable retailer :) p.s. also any good stockist of exhaust parts as I'm on the hunt for a complete system, plan on buying it online for cheapish and getting my local place to fit it.

MK1 Golf Ignition Auxiliary position? by ron
Does anyone know if the MK1 Golf (1983 Driver model) has an auxiliary position on the ignition switch? If so, do you know where power from this can be picked up for powering a radio (and wire colour). Thanks

T4 transporter not starting, V. confused. Please help! by mball
My VW T4 Transporter has began refusing to start. When I turn the key in the ignition nothing happens whatsoever. All the dash lights come on and the coil light goes out after the right sort of time but the engine isn't turning at all. There had been problems with the battery to starter motor cable in the past so I've replaced that but still nothing. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be...

T reg Golf 1.6 Auto sump plate / guard? by digitaltoast
Any idea where I can find a template for one of these? I can't find any under £120, and thought I might have a crack at making my own. Unless someone knows of one cheaper!

2006 Passat Key Battery Replacement by Andy Cook, G4PIQ
I have a 2006 Passat Estate with keyless entry where one of the keys now has a flat battery. I've had a look at prising open the casing and pushed as hard as I dared without getting proper instructions. Any hints on the right place to prise these apart. Many Thanks, Andy

Vibration in clutch pedal by James[_2_]
mk4 golf 1.4 2002 A coil pack recently went and changed that. After that I noticed some virbations in the clutch pedal and in the gas pedal not so much though in the gas pedal. The biting point is beyond half way up of travel of the pedal. Taking a wild guess but I'm guessing its the clutch on the way out after 60k.

Car Prices by nico
Cars are a big investment. Since buying a car is relatively a long- term investment, many people want to make an informed decision about the latest prices of all models of cars before deciding on any one. Car prices are likely to change quite often, depending on the market conditions, introduction of newer models, competition, demand, and many other factors. It is thus important to know the most...

HT leads and stuff by Angus Manwaring
I bought a Quantum pack of replacement HT leads for my Mk 3 1.8 CL Golf, months ago - possibly more. I finally got round to fitting them today, and while the 4 HT leads are fine, the (can't remember the name) lead that comes down to the erm... distributor is too short. Taking it back is not an option now, and I'm a bit anti paying out another 40 quid for a complete set. Is it possible to just...

Mk2 Golf 1.3 valve/'rocker' cover gasket change by Part timer
How difficult should removing the top/cam/valve/rocker cover on the VW 1272cc engine (code=2G)? My mum's 1991 Golf went near the main dealer this week (yeah, I know!) That unrelated job was done OK (should be for the money!) but the "free visual inspection" flagged up an oil leak around the top cover that they want £157 for top cover, gasket and labour. They ignored the fact that the oil filler...

MK2 Golf tailgate loom by Doki
It seems that one of the lamps that isn't working on my tailgate may be down to the wiring rather than the bulb - I've swapped bulbs but I'm yet to check the voltage with a multimeter. Anyway - does anyone know if the wiring runs around the bottom of the boot / rear panel, or does it come straight from the fusebox, under the roof lining? Are there any connectors which commonly pack up?
