Ticking 8v 1.8 by
Tralfalmador
Hello fellow VW owners!
My 1990 VW Golf with 89,000 miles (I'm from US) runs great but has a
loud ticking problem. I tried running a cleaner through the motor
before I changed the oil, but that only stopped it for about two weeks.
Any suggestions?

Broken cam belt in Sharan 1.9TDI - Help ! by
David
Hi,
Need some guidance, VW Sharan 1.9TDi Auto (MPV) made 1999, the cam belt
suddenly snapped while driving on the motorway - obviously all power was
lost. Before I get suckered by the local garage, does anyoneknow if the
valves or pistons would have been damaged ? or is it just a simple cam belt
replacement ?.
TIA

There's full information on the new Eos coupe/convertible (previously known
as the Concept C) at

Pity it's all in German but the pictures and specs look good!!!

accelerate and nothing happens for a split second! Can be embarrasing and
possibly dangerous. Any help would be appreciated,

Help needed: ELSAWIN software. by
JB
Does anyone here use the ELSAWIN software for VW-Audi? I have ver.3 (1CD &
4DVDs) and although it appears that the install went ok, I can't get the
vehicle identifier screen to accept my vehicle ID even though it's listed.
This means I can't get into the workshop manuals and tech info screens.
Any links or help greatly appreciated.
cheers,
JB

Traffic needed. Can anyone help? by
Paul King
Hey everyone,
I'd like to ask your advice, or at least the advice of all of you who are either interested in, or already involved in, creating income from the internet.
I'm not exactly experienced in on-line money making, in fact all I've managed so far is money losing! I don't suppose anyone gets it completely right first time so I'm sure you all know what I mean. Probably my failings are due...

15" Steels for a MK2 GTi by
Doki
Any ideas? I'd like to fit nice wide low profile tyres on steels (as BBS
wheels are silly expensive). I've seen Rallye ones, but they're going to be
not cheap. MK3 wheels?

I hate VW.. I really do. :-( by
JR Hartley
Dear all,
Please do yourselves a favour.. don't buy a VW Passat (especially a 51
reg)... you're just asking for multiple break ins...
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
If ONLY I knew this before hand.
After the first attempted break-in, VW UK insisted that the door lock on the

This is totally FREE and it ROCKS! by
Paul King
Hi,
I've just got to share this with everyone.
It's totally free and a real life-changer! It's not every day that a guy who earns millions every year on the internet decides to tell anyone who's interested exactly how he does it.
One things for sure, this is going to upset a heck of a lot of so called "gurus" when they find out that their money spinning secrets are being exposed. This site...

Sharan air-bags by
Dave Hall
On the recent thread about small drivers, I found this additional detail at the
weekend:-
European air-bags differ significantly from the USA; the USA ones are designed
to work as a replacement for the seat-belt as so many Americans drive without
wearing them, which means they are larger air-bags.
The driver airbag is only a chest bag, and smaller again than the passenger side
one.

Long term lay-up by
jeff dove
Any tips for when I have to lay-up my MKIV Golf Auto? I will be away for
four weeks in January 2006 and will have to leave the car exposed to the
elements. Should I disconnect the battery and if so what happens when I
reconnect,
Thanks

Get a free iPod. http://ipods.freepay.com/?r=21816607
This is a real site. The way it works is this, you subscribe to the site,
accept a trial offer (for a couple of weeks) then get 5 mates to do the
same. Once all 5 have been accepted, you get your free iPod. As the trial
subscriptions are free for a few weeks, try them then cancel before you have
to pay.
Good luck, I hope your friend...

Tyre recommendation? by
WolfWilf
Good afternoon from this first time poster.
I'm looking for views about tyres for my Golf cabrio (2000). Tyre size is
205/45/16. It's sporting Pirellis at the moment, but local tyre shops keep
trying to steer me in the direction of strange names - specifically Ventas
(?), BF Goodrich, Fulva, Barum and something like Kumil or Kamil. All of
these are substantially cheaper than the more...

Can anyone help.
I drive a Mk IV VW Golf GTI (UK reg 2001)
Today for the first time whilst accelerating hard I saw my temperature gauge

Happened a few hours later.
