On the back of the engine on the 1.7 SDI Lupo 1999, there is a cast aluminium strut which is fixed to the bodywork by the gearchange, and should obviously connect to the engine somewhere round the engine/gearbox joint. On mine this is floating, the mounting bolt or stud has broken. Unfortunately I cannot see where it is supposed to bolt onto the engine, so it is difficult to see how to repair...

On one of the TDi forums in Europe, a few guys were discussing the use of VAG-COM (don't know which version) for 'tuning' their TDis instead of using a chip or tuning box.
