Mark 5 VW Golf by
Roberts
Hi Group
My Golf 2.0 litre diesel has developed an odd habit, it has decided to warn
me every time I go over 20 mph even outside a 20 mph speed limit. Any ideas
anyone? Its driving me mad.

Golf Mk2 '92 heater problem by
benpost
I have an old Mk2 1800 Driver, J reg last of the mark 2's. Its just
done 238,000 miles and I have had a few minor issues lately but the
engine just keeps on going.
A few months ago I noticed a drip under the bonnet and found It was
losing water, I managed to top it up and get home. It was the radiator
leaking, one of those rad weld things you crumble into the system did
the trick.
First of all...

Flooded engine by
Stephen
MK4 golf 1.6 16v 01
Hypotheitcal question, if you flooded this vehicle would the WOT (wide open
throttle) method clear the fuel in the engine allowing it to start and run
properly. Or after doing that would you need to change the plug from having
be damp ?
Thanks

96 passat - no spark by
Phil L
My passat conked out yesterday, and I had to tow it home as I flattened the
battery trying to restart it (I'd already drove it a few miles, so the
engine was warm).
After recharging the battery, I tried a sparkplug on the bodywork when
turning the key and there doesn't appear to be a spark from any of them.
The dissy cap seems OK inside, as does the rotor arm, but the lead that
leads to the...

Snow by
Bill Again[_3_]
I have just been watching Utube videos on the various accidents going on for
the last few days on the icy British roads. Mainly cars of course, but
lorries and trucks too, including a dust cart sliding backwards down the
road and hitting a car. I bet very few of these idiots had winter tires on
the car, and none had snow chains. I suspect that a huge percentage of these
"accidents" would not...

mk4 gold negative battery terminal \ starting issues by
Stephen
I was wondering if anyone has noticed that on the mk4 golf the negative
terminal connector on the battery doesn't quite sit properly ?
I think think is modding the battery box to accomodate the cable somehow so
it sits square. Maybe by dremeling a bit away or driling a big hole and
thredding it through.
Just wondered if anyone has noticed this. I was always wondering if this has
been the...

Golf Mk4 headlight bulb by
Angus Manwaring
(2002 Golf Mk4 TDI)
Hi all,
Somebody told me my passenger-side headlight (dipped) wasn't working and
so this morning I bravely set about changing the bulb. It was a 12v 55w H7
Halogen.
Without scratching my hands too badly and after only breaking a couple of
the plastic clips on the battery cover, I had the bulb in and working.

Turbocharger in VW Golf II by
Chris Bartram
Doki wrote:
I would expect it to be much easier and cheaper to fit a 1.8T engine as
found in the Leon Cupra, A3 and Golf 4 GTI. These will push out 225

uncommon figure for a show car. QPE http://www.qpeng.com/ supply various
components off the shelf to aid fitting the 1.8T into a MK2 Golf engine
bay. This engine...

Turbocharger in VW Golf II by
Popey
Good day
I'm writing in the name of my friend. Unfortunately his ability to speak
English is even worse than mine :)
Anyway he is an owner of VW Golf II and he loves this car. On his own
replaces and improves various parts of it. For example recently he put in
suspension from 4 drive wheel car and engine from other vw (I think
passat). If you want, there are some...

Check the fuse, and is fine. The heated rear screen button goes yellow when
you press it instead on red which is odd.
Not faults are coming up on vag com.
Anyone any ideas of what I can try ?

Engine Management System by
The Todal
A 2005 Polo 1.4 with very low mileage, around 10,000 miles. After driving
down a motorway without any problem, on reaching the 30 mph area the car
starts to judder and reduce speed (but the engine doesn't actually cut out)
and the light goes on to warn of exhaust/engine management problem. The
light is blinking, but there is no other instruction message. Driver was
very worried, stopped...

Golf Mk 4 TDI - Hatch door by
Angus Manwaring
Hi all,
Taking the shopping back to the car this morning at Morrisson's my wife
got to the boot door of my Golf (Mk 4 Diesel 02) before I had unlocked it,
and she just opened it, and the alarm went off.
After a bit of a check it seems that when I lock the car with the remote,
the boot door is staying unlocked.
The worrying thing is I've no idea how long this has been going on.
