The Golf's playing up. Must be because I've polished it. When the oil's warmed up to 80 odd or so, the oil pressure lamp comes on if the engine's allowed to idle. Rev it at all, and it goes back off. I've previously had the buzzer come on a couple of times during normal driving, (ie, above a couple of thousand revs, oil not stinking hot and not cornering like a loon) but it's always gone off...

Hi My son has a 1.3 GT multipoint injection polo, when it starts from cold its a bit lumpy but starts every time, at every junction and roundabout it cuts out. On one ocasion after it had been running for about 15 mins we stopped for fuel and it took ages to start. Main problem though is cutting out every time you have to pull up. ** HELP** Ken

Hi, I need to change some bits on the passenger & drivers door lock. I have undone the screw on the inside of the door but the lock/handle won't come out. Is there something else I must remove (black lock cover on the outside?) and if so how do I get it off. Thanks in advance

Hi Everyone Just thought I'd ask for some help in diagnosing a fault on my sisters car. It is a 1999 'V' Golf GTi having covered just 49,000 miles. In the last 6000miles it has used nearly 2 gallons of oil, though it does not seem to smoke excessively but black sooty deposits are around the back of the car. Hi, Continuing saga of my 1990 golf... The current symptoms a- The car always starts first time, after about 10 miles running, when it reaches normal operating temperature, the car looses power and starts 'missing'. Eventually the car stops. Funnily, if I turn off the engine, wait a few seconds, and re-start, the car is fine afterwards.

.......the problem of oil getting into the distributers in the 16v golf engines? Oil seems to escape through mine as if the engine is allergic to it! Are the mk3 lumps any better in this respect??? Chris 1990 mk2 16v
