Vibratech - opinions pls!.... by
Chris
Need to replace the front engine mount in my mk2 GTi. Gen VW item quoted at
£88. Bearing in mind I want to do a few trackdays and possibly take it over
to the 'ring I thought I'd look at fitting an uprated item. Also I have
fitted a TSR 4-1 manifold which doesn't have a proper flexi-joint. The
Vibratech name pops up all over the place regarding this and cheapest I've
found one for is...

VW Sharan VR6 Head Gasket blown? by
Lee Rowland
Hi, I think my head gasket has blown and I've heard a lot of different
stories about whether or not it's worth fixing. I went to a main VW dealer
and they told me if the head gasket has blown it's what they call a "throw
away engine". Somebody else said he was talking b***ox. Anybody got any
ideas and if so do you know of any garages who do this sort of thing?

vr6 sharan ignition leads by
johnvc
Anyone out thete experienced lousy running of the vr6 in wet weather. VW
garage advised a change of ht leads, but I cannot pay their price. Any
ideas on how to get them on would be appreciated, its been awhile since I
did any and boy does it look complex.

Elusive misfire on old Polo - but could happen on a lot of cars by
Dave Hall
The long and irritating problem of an occasional misfire in my H-reg 1.3 Polo Mk
2 seems over at last.
When I bought it amost 6 months ago, there was an occasional misfire so I got it
new plugs and leads, as the old leads didn't seem to be gripping the plugs very
well. That was because some previous owner or mechanic had left the screw
terminals on the old plugs. D'oh!
Still the misfire was...

Suspension by
Joe
My suspension seems dodgy on my MK3 Golf 1.4. I've had the rear bushes
replaced and front left wishbone in past year. I recently took trip round
Europe covering 6000 miles on all sorts of mountainous roads including doing
50mph over cobbles for 5 miles (was quite cool), but now it seems I'm about
to pay the price.
The left rear seems between 20-15mm higher than the right and I get a lot of...

Golf Mk3 1998 GL by
taddie
Greetings all from down under.
We have a '98 Golf GL (2.0 litre) and have had it since new.
Over the past couple of months, every now and again, the car just stops - it
has recently become more frequent.
The mechanic has replaced the coil, the fuel pump and the latest thing that
was replaced was the crank angle sensor which we hoped would fix the
problem - it hasn't.

Golf losing power at random by
The O n e
My 1999 Golf 1.8 GTI has a problem.
Every so often at random it will lose power although still running when I
press the accelerator pedal it will be rough and very sluggish for about a
minute or so before it seems to clear itself and carries on as normal.
The idling seems to be rough as well, could this contribute to the problem?
The problem of losing power 9 times out of ten will happen if I...

2001 New Beetle with headlight problems by
exrhol95
Hello
I have a problem where the main front beam lights do not work.
These are the ones which are connected with a green wire when you change
the bulbs in the head light.
I have already changed the bulbs (12V - 55W) and checked the fuses
16/17/18/19. When I connected a Voltmeter to the head lamp unit
connector, I do no measure a voltage. I see however a voltage for the
city lights (yellow ...

Passat Alarm problem by
Marty1a
1998 VW passat Est - ADR 18 20v Engine.
The alarm arms ok - light etc... flash. Sometimes it works ok and wont go
off falsely at other times it will go off time and after time until I just
end up locking it with the key bypassing the alarm.
What would cause the alarm to go off falsely??
Can the sensitivity be turned up/down on this alarm.

light fitting off and it looks light the light and the white face plate are
