MK2 Golf GTI; Engine / Box / all engine bay ancillaries in and out by Doki
Wondering if it's worth doing the engine bay when I eventually get around to spraying the car. How long will it take me to get the engine bay empty after pulling the front panel off?

mk2 Golf 16v fr wheel bearings by Chris
I want to fit new wheel bearings to a set of 16v hubs I will soon be fitting to my 8v along with a g60 kit. ECP lists 4 different brands of bearings for the 16v. GSF list 1 by the looks of their website. Which is best to get the bearing from ? *OR* I do know of a local bearing shop (County Bearings Benfleet Essex) if anyone knows the type number of the bearing itself. ETKA is no...

passat carb problem 2e2 type by ukdodger
Hi. My 1985 Passat has a 2E2 carb fitted as standard. It starts and will tickover ok until the engine starts to get hot. Eventually the revs drop and drop as the engine gets hotter and hotter until it wont run at all without having my foot pressing down on the accellerator. I've tried adjusting the co2 content and it makes little or no difference. Any ideas. Thanks

no battery light on dashboard by Dahgan
Hello all. I have an R reg Polo Diesel. After replacing my old (dead) alternator, the battery light does not come on anymore. I turned the key to the 2 position and the oil light and handbrake light illuminate as normal, but the battery light does not. When I turn the key to 3rd position, the car starts as usual. Do you think replacing the alternator caused somehow some fuse to blow up.

1997 Polo 1.6 Cooling Issue by killa_s15@yahoo.com.au
Hi everyone, I have a 1997 VW Polo 1.6 which is overheating. The first time it happened, I noticed that the thermo fan was not running. After bypassing the thermo switch in the radiator, the fan worked and proved that it was not the issue. I have since replaced the thermostat and the thermo switch. The first run of the car the temperature rose slightly above the usual level and then the fan...

Brake light not working by vw-lover
Noticed the nearside brake light was not working on my mk4 Golf. Replaced the bulb and it is still not working. Off-side and the high level work perfectly. Another thing I noticed was that the brake pedal needs pushing quite firmly before the brake lights work. TIA

Seat Leon - Too much pollution? by Gareth Edwards
I know this is a VW group, but there is no Seat newsgroup and they are all the same now anyway! My question is about a warning light that has come on my dash. It started coming on a few days ago and is on all the time now. I have looked in the handbook, and it does not say much about it, apart from that it is a light for 'too much pollution'. Does this mean I have a problem with the car?...

Service counter re-set by Chuckie Finzter
Hi there, I have a 02 Golf GT TDI 130 MK4 and done the service myself. However, how do I re-set the "SERVICE NOW" indication on the dash? I've switched the ignition on waited for the service light to come on, then pressed the trip button then the clock change button to no avail. Could any one out there please help? Mate at work said this works for his Golf. Cheers

Leaky Passat by AndyB03
Can anyone shed any light on this bizarre leak. I have a 2001 Passat that has recently decided to convert the rear passenger side foot well into a swimming pool. Every time I sponge the water out the following day it seems to be just as bad. I know I live in Scotland but I didn't think it had rained that much. Is this a common problem or am I on my own???

Passat lights on buzzer problem by Robert Flint
My year 2000 Passat has just developed a problem with the warning buzzer that sounds when you open the door with the lights still on. It now sounds every time I open the drivers door, regardless of whether the lights are on or not. It does stop when the door is closed. Any suggestions? Thanks ROB
