RAC transfers UK jobs to India... by
tarquinlinbin
Just had my renewal notice for RAC motor breakdown insurance. Phoned
to try and renew, spoke to someone who couldnt understand me so I didnt
bother proceeding with the renewal. A bit of googling reveals that RAC
exported loads of UK jobs to India.
As i have a policy of not dealing with companies who export UK jobs, I
will no longer be dealing with the RAC.

Sharan air bag by
stewyh
Ive just bought a 96 Sharan VR6 and the air bag light stays on. I read that
it may be a bug in electronics tripped by VAG computer plugged in. Anyone
else heard of this and if so is it dangerous or will it just not function.
Any thoughts gratefully read.
THANX

VW Sharan - Overheating problem by
Deighton Ridge
Owning a 2001 Sharan TDI and having driven over 140000 miles in it I have
not been more than a few months in the last couple of years without
incurring costly problems despite regular main dealer servicing. However, I
remain too attached to the car, it's not a bad drive for an MPV, fuel
economy is great, the engine has been good until now and the car is
fantastic for the family.
The latest...

Sharan problems: heating and water in footwell by
Feenee
I've been searching the web for a clue to water in the driver footwell
(only) of my 2000 Sharan 1.9 110.
I found a few refs. to blocked drainage pipes at the base of the windscreen.
But my Sharan does not appear to have any pipes/ holes or any other channel.
Water just goes down the back lip at the back of the engine compartment and
appears to run out down the back of the wheelarch covers....

VW key fobs by
vw-lover
How would one go about getting a "spare" key for a mk4 golf (2000, X reg).
Have recently purchased the car but it only has 1 key fob......Car is a v6
4motion. The current fob is the 2 button type (lock and unlock buttons). I
have seen several on ebay for sale which have blank keys, ie ready to be
cut. How would I go about programming the key to unlock/dis-arm and
lock/arm the...

Polo poor starting by
andy-k
My 1998 Polo 1.4L has recently developed a problem with starting. Instead of
starting first time after it's been left standing for a few hours, it starts
*third* time. Even a long run with the starter fails to give a first-time
start. The spark is good, but there was a recent problem with the
non-factory immobiliser holding the fuel pump and injectors off. The
auto-electrician disconnected...

Rear brake caliper by
vw-lover
I am trying to find a nearside rear brake caliper for a Golf V6 4motion.
GSF supplied me with one but it is the wrong one, turns out GSF DO NOT stock
rear calipers for V6 4m. The rear disks are vented.
Would appreciate any suggestions as to where a caliper could be purchased.

mk3 golf suspension - snapped? by
John P.
Hi,
Driving home today I heard a loud clunking noise. After this the car
continued to make a noise but seemed to drive ok (I was nearly home and
going about 30).
I've had a look and it appears that the rear suspension has disconnected.
On the other side the spring sits on a disc (mounting?).
On the broken side the spring appears to have snapped or come free of the
disc leaving the mounting...

Slow wipers by
vw-lover
Got a mk4 Golf, 2000, X reg. The wipers are very slow, so low that they
almost stopped mid way across the windscreen.
Could this be a seized linkage problem or a burnt out motor???
Could anyone details the procedure to check, or lube the linkage etc.
Thanks

What do you use????????????? by
vw-lover
Just after opinions on what other VW owner use to clean the dashboard /
interior of their cars. Don't want to get one of these spray on products
which makes the surface go all shiney...prefer the matt look it currently
has.
Wife suggests a damp cloth to remove all the dust/dirt but not sure what
effect this will have on the top of the dash.
Would appreciate any comments.

New Alloys by
Si
I'm thinking about replacing the standard 16 inch alloys on my Mk 4 Golf GTI
T with 18 inchers. I've heard that increasing the diameter of the wheel can
affect the readings from the speedo/trip computer.
Is this true and are there any other things I need to consider??
Any help on this is much appreciated...
Thanks in advance
