Mk4 Golf Water in footwell by cj121
Hi, new to all this so lets see how it goes. I've a Mk4 Golf '98 Tdi. I get water in the drivers footwell after rain. The seals are, or appear to be, in good condition with no obvious signs of ingress there. There are small beads that are noticable at pillars etc, which seem to show that the seals are doing their job at keeping water out of the cabin. No obvious signs of water on 'step'.

Mk3 Golf Cabriolet power hood by cliveofaldridge@yahoo.co.uk
My newly aquired mk 3 cabby has lost the fluid from the pump reservoir. I've taken a close look and this seems to be due to the reservoir being cracked. Can anyone suggest the way forward from here, surely I wont need to buy a complete pump, or will I?

Polo 16V 1999, Pedal Box Removal: by MrMessy
I am trying to remove the pedal box to repair the clutch cable bracket that has sheared off. I have undone the box and steering column, but cannot remove the brake pedal actuating arm from the servo unit! There does not appear to be any pins or clips to undo? Does anybody know how to do this? -- MrMessy ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Switchable live... by Jon B
Hopefully a quicky question. '92 Audi 80 (B4 Chassis) trying to wire in the cars first radio, there is ISO plugs behind the blanking plate but no switchable live to them. Dropped the dash cover, checked power at the ignition, you've got a switchable live on the ignition on the smallish red wire when you put the key in , is that going to be substantial enough to power a modern stereo or should I...

Cam belt change Passat 130 tdi (AVF Engine Code) by Ralph Bayley
My Passat 130 TDI has just reached 4 years with a mileage of 55000, I've been advised to get the Cam Belt changed. My question is should I also change the waterpump in view of the fact it is driven by the Cam Belt. The VW Dealer has quoted £460 including the waterpump and a local inderpendent has quoted £280 including the waterpump using genuine VW parts. The dealer can fit me in next week...

VW Passat gamma radio/cd problem by Kenny of the Fells
The gamma radio in my 98 Passat has developed a problem where it will only pick up very strong radio signals, and also it fails to detect my cd changer. It still plays cassettes no problem. Both of these have happened at the same time. After a bit of googling, it appears that there may be an antenna amplifier somewhere - presumably both this and the cd changer are powered from the radio? If...

golf mk4 remote key by deauville rider
My son has a s-reg mk4 golf 1.6se One of his keys stopped working (as a remote),probably needing new batteries, so he put it away and started using his second (identical)key. Now that has stopped working (again probably needing batteries) All batteries have now been replaced, but still neither key will work as remote. We,ve tried the suggested solution i.e 1 key in ignition and 2nd key locking...

Slightly off topic - starting an Ibiza by mike.james
Well ok very off topic but there isn't a Seat news group that I can find - in fact there seems to be zero interest in the make. A friend has for reasons that aren't important inherited a Seat Ibiza II that hasn't been used for more than 2 years. The tank was empty - after adding 15L of fuel the gauge still rises up and stops at 0. The engine turns over all warning lights go out - but it...

Brakes on 2001 golf by James_sutton
How much of a job would it be to tackle th brakes on my golf ? I have been quoted £430 to have the front and read disc \ pads changed and brake fluid changed. I have a haynes manual and some tools. Is this something worth trying yourself or best left to the pros ? The quote seems a bit high for something that looks simple. Although I am no expert it could turn into a nightmare of a job, one...
