Mk 4 Golf by Roberts
Hi Group The dipped headlight bulb on my Mk 4 golf has failed. Left hand side as you sit in the car. It seems to me that it is not a simple job, can someone who has done it give me some idea of the best way to do it please. Maybe I am missing the obvious. Many thanks Alan

2002 Passat - Door Sensor by lstarr@gmail.com
Has this ever happened to anyone? I have a 2002 Passat. Got it used a couple of months ago. It just started having this quirk with the driver's door sensor. The car indicates that the drivers door is open....when it isn't. And it won't go off now. It dings and beeps and buzzes and it REALLY ANNOYING. I can't get it to go off! Is there any quick fix to just disconnect the sensor or anything?...

Radiator Problems by Ears
I rear-ended a minivan (in the snow) in my golf 1.8 8v. Unfortunately, it busted the radiator and dripped all the coolant. It didn't overheat, but it is running rough and the coolant light is flashing (after about a minute) when I refill the resevoir. What do you think could be the problem(s)? Please be kind in your response, I already feel bad enough!

Which is the best shocks by Sam James
Hi I know a thread like this must be started every couple of weeks or so but I've only just started reading the group again so here goes: I have a 1999 golf mark 4 GTI 20V turbo about to reach 70k and the suspension although good is starting to feel a little tired. Also I purchased it about 9 months ago and although it rides a lot better than my old mark 3 CL, my mark 3 had Bilstein gas...

Independant VW specialist Northants area by Oscar
Does anybody know of a good independent VW specialist in the Northants area? Our car is now over 3 years old and I want to stop using the VW service network, but I would still like to use a garage the specialises in the marque and has all the proper diagnostic equipment etc. rather than just any old independent garage. The car is a 2003 Polo Thanks

1998 Polo Idle fault by ken Booth
Hello I have a 1999 Polo 1Litre. It idles very erratically especially when warm and even worse when hot If you hold the throttle at the Carb you can feel the idle valve pulsing onto the butterfly. I feel mixture is wrong, and as its fine when cold I would guess rich at idle. Everything else is in good order. The distributor is new, the plugs are good and also the leads. All vacuum pipe are...

MkIV Golf rear axle rubber mountings. by Phil
I'm about to replace the rear axle mounting bushes on my Golf. Ive read my Haynes on the proceedure and feel I can extract and replace the bushes. The only section that seems a little vague is the handbrake cables and hydraulic lines. If anyone has done this job can they tell me. Do these items have to be completely disconnected or is it possible to lower the axle far enough to change the...

Anyone flogging a cheap Mk2 GTi on 'ere? by Pete M
I'm in the market for a nice Mk2 Golf GTi if anyone out there is flogging one for sensible money. Read sensible as "not expensive". Don't mind a bit of MOT work, but something solid and driveable would be good. Tax is a lovely bonus for which you would be rewarded. 3 or 5 door, K-Jet or Digipants, intergalactic mileage, LHD or RHD anything is good, but anything that's been attacked by the...
