Polo updates? by Hugo Nebula
Does anyone know if VW are planning to put the 130 bhp diesel engine in the Polo? They (or rather their subsidiaries) have put the same engine in other smaller hatchbacks (130bhp diesel Skoda Fabia ferkristsakes!), so are VW going to follow suit. I've test-drove the Seat Ibiza, and the handling & performance were very good, but there was just "something" lacking in the Ibiza that the Polo had. ...

High mileage Mk3 Golf 8v GTi by TheFatBoy
I'm considering buying a Mk3 Golf 8v GTi for my wife to use as a shopping trolley and me to use as some fun - a break from the company car... I've been to see a couple, and they had both covered around 120,000 miles. Is this a lot for one of these? Can I reasonably expect it to carry on for another 80,000 miles without something disintegrating with an expensive pop? One of the cars was £1700...

Hi, Last night the first two settings on the fan became faulty and only the highest setting (3) pushes air through. Thinking about it I reckon that the first setting failed sometime shortly after I bought it about 5 months ago, but at the time I thought that it was just a weak setting so didn't pay much attention! Any advice wiuld be great, what with winter coming up and all.. don't fancy

Vehicle switch symbols by Roy Hammond
You know those graphic symbols, used instead of words, on switches and warning lights on instrument panels - especially on European cars. Where can I download a set of them from, so that I can print off labels for my switches and lights? I hope that somebody can help me! None of the web searches I've done to date have come up with the goods. And scanning from small images in paper catalogues...

Which coolant by Alex Hopwood
If you go to VW these days you will find that they only stock antifreeze called G12 PLUS. This is new stuff and mixes with G12 and G11. I've used it with no problems mixed with G11. As I say I don't think it's possible to get G11 or ordinary G12 anymore so perhaps your problem has already been solved by good ol VW ! "Oliver Walter" wrote in...
