polo doors freezing by
village idiot
Both my daughter and wife have Polo,s and
experience the same problem.
When we get a sharp frost the front doors will not open, they both resort to
getting in via the rear doors ,clamber into the drivers seat and away they
go, not what you want first thing in the morning !!but hey.
I don't mind the gymnastics but am concerned what would happen if they
needed to get out in a hurry.
I have tried the...

VW Golf Mk 2 - Electrical regulation by

Hello David.

I have a 1989 VW Golf Mk 2 1600 Automatic. Recently I have noticed that

brighter then darker. This effect seems to be unaffected by engine speed.
I guess this is some...

Headlamps not working by
Dave
Hi
I was away for the weekend last Saturday and at the beginning of a 200mile
journey we noticed the passenger side dip headlamp was not working.
Everything else was fine. I assumed it was a bulb and bought one on Tuesday,
unfortunately the local car accessory shop sold me the wrong one! Before I
had a chance to replace the bulb the drivers side dip headlamp stopped
working too! The next day I...

fancy someone in a car? by
Paul Wesley
Have you heard of www.motorflirt.com? Its a brilliant site for meeting
people. If you see someone in a car, you can text them a message using their
number plate direct to their mobile phone. I met a few birds and took them
out
for a drink. Check it out, its free
You can also search their database and send them a message. The good thing
about it, nobody knows who you are, them birds that i met...

Power steering by
Paul and Amy
Hello everyone.
I have a 93 passat VR6 and when I turn the steering wheel left or right I
get a clunking noise from the front end. It does it when I am driving slow
and turning fairly sharp and when I am at a stand still and turn the
steering wheel from left to right. I was wondering if anyone knows what
might be causing this or what I can do to fix it. If anyone has any feed
back please...

i'm getting annoyed now by
Joe
i've had my fuel filter changed on my golf 96, it hasn't worked to fix the
problem of my car losing power, its like its got no injection anymore and
accelerates at a slow pace. Then the injection kicks in and it jumps. I'm
wondering if its the fuel pump now as that comes before the filter and so
maybe clogged?? This is after i ran the tank into the red and car started
jumping.

TDi cutting out by
Dave Hall
A couple of weeks ago my '99 Golf Estate TDi just turned itself off - dials
went to zero and oil light came on.
It did the same again today, within about 400 yards of the same place in
Bristol from the opposite direction, luckily while waiting at traffic
lights. Turning the key to restart a couple of times did no good, but
setting the immobiliser and unsetting it allowed an immediate restart. ...

Car Cover by
sgw
I'm taking my Golf MKIII off the road for 6 months, during which time it
won't be garaged, hence I'd be interested if anyone could recommend a
particular type\brand of Car Cover. Also any other tips with respect to
"mothballing" would be appreciated.

Fitting a Nokia Bluetooth carkit to a Golf by
anthony james
I'm thinking of fitting a Bluetooth car kit to my 2002 Golf. They're
not a lot more than a simple BT headset and would make using the phone
in the car properly legal.
Any advice on how to link it to the loom to get power, integrate with
a Pioneer headunit and use the cars speakers?
Secondly, the golf appears to have space for a microphone next to the
interior lights. Is there a mic and...

Help! Mk3 golf 1.9TDi engine stall whilst driving. by
Jon hutchings
Ever since I serviced my partners golf (late Mk3 P reg 1.9TDi) and
change the air, fuel and oil filters and oil, the engine dies whilst
driving. There seems to be no pattern (sometime when hot , sometimes
when cold)
The one clue was that when servicing it I noticed the braided tube/wire/
cable ? that comes from the alloy air manifold casting at the rear of
the engine (almost directly...

Help: oil warning light by
David Gibbins
I have a 1992 Mk3 Golf 1.8 Auto. The oil pressure warning light and buzzer
sound shortly after moving off (only when moving). The car is quite happy
to start-up, idle and be revved at standstill without the warnings. The
sensor resets itself after the engine is switched off then restarted, only
to restart after being in motion for a short time. We have checked the oil
pressure, all appears to...

Query about diagnosing blown head gasket... by
GR
If an engine is losing coolant because exhaust gases are leaking into
the water jacket and overpressurising the system, would you expect
this to happen *every time* the car was driven, or could it be an
intermittent problem?
Further to my query elsewhere about my VR6 coolant loss problem, I've
just taken the car for a spin to warm it up, then watched it idle for
about 20 minutes, and the water...

Can anyone tell me what the maximum permitted towing weights of those

site, and the info may well be there somewhere, but if it is, I can't
find it.
Ta, in advance.

Wanted: Small Camper by

Hi,
I am after a small camper van - ideally something that will not
require a massive amount of mechanical work. Cosmetics are not too
much of a concern. Up to £5000 - I am based near Peterborough.
Cheers,
