Mk2 Golf GTi on fleabay by Doki
"Antony Gelberg" wrote in message ... Just in case anyone here /doesn't/ have their dream VW yet. :) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190124462960 It's worth about the asking price, maybe a bit less IMO - I'd only go to £1200 or so for a very good rust free GTI. OTOH, those wheels aren't BBS RAs...

1997 caravelle servicing in south wales by Keith Barrett
Hi Looking for any recommendations for a good place to get my caravelle serviced within about 50 miles of Bridgend in south wales. Not sure if it is true but been told that the 2.4 diesels are not easy to work on. Not bothered about it being an official vw dealer as long as they are good and reliable and do what they are meant to.

Golf GTI MK IV electrical problem in door by farrukhx@gmail.com
I posted earlier about getting a Golf with a broken engine mount which I have decided to not get! I've seen another cheap GTI MK IV which has some sort of electrical problem: Passenger door's central locking, electric window, electric mirror and even the red light on the door doesn't work. Anyone idea's what could be wrong with this car?

Google is your friend by diy-newby
One phrase that winds me up is that one. In other words - "look it up you lazy tw@t" Why do people put this? Why not just list whatever they have found, pedantic tw@ts. Rant over.

Alpine Stereo in a 1996 Polo by Speedgazebo
Hello there - I was going to replace my standard Sony Radio/Cassette with an Alpine cd changer. I got the old one out using the removal keys, connected up the Alpine (it had compatible plugs) but found it only to work with the ignition OFF! Basically it works with one turn of the key but not when engine running. I put back the original Sony head and found it to do exactly the same! Have...

Golf GTI MKIV Possible Broken Engine Mount by farrukhx@gmail.com
Hi all, I'm purchasing a Golf GTI 1.8T W reg Mark 4 from Bradford and the seller has told me that the Engine mount is possibly broken or on its way out. (The Engine mount at the back of the engine). I don't know much about golfs at all but I have driven a volvo from Glasgow to London before and it survived the journey just fine. Would driving a GTI from Bradford to London be a big risk to take?

Wanted: 'N75' valve for T4 2.5TDi by JB
I'm after a used or new (but cheaper than the £70 VW want!), boost control valve (N75) for my 2.5TDi T4 with an ACV engine. Does anyone know if the N75 valve from other VW models is suitable? Breakers round here don't seem to have many TDis or T4s. Any info much appreciated. Cheers, JB

Golf V radio turns itself on even when key removed by kimlfam@gmail.com
Oh, the surveys on VW reliability is coming to haunt my Golf V as well. First - the fuse box with the wrong diagram on the manual. Then air-con failure Then the windscreen that leaked due to 'adhesive' problems !! Now ... This 1.6 Comfortline has a radio unit that turns itself on every so often even with key removed. And there was one day when it stayed on for so long that my battery

Sharan TDi Thermostat by JungleBoy
Having trouble finding the thermostat on a Sharan TDi 90bhp P reg. The Haynes book says it's on the right side of engine but I can't see it. Any ideas where to look? The temperature gauge comes up slowly to just below half way. Not sure if this is normal so I thought I'd swap the thermostat. JungleBoy

Mk3 Golf estate rear wiper arm by stan
Hello, Does anyone know if the wiper arm itself used on the Mk3 Golf estate tailgate is the same arm as that used on the Mk3 Golf hatchback? It looks like it from a distance but I'm too embarrassed to go up to one and start poking around! I've managed to snap the one on my wife's estate and if they are the same it should be easier to find one in a scrap yard or from a breakers. Saying which,...
