Can anyone shed any light on this problem. When I adjust the R/H mirror it moves ok however, the L/H mirror also moves making it out of adjustment. When I move the L/H one first it doesn't move the right. Could there be a problem with the door switch, relay or is it normal. Cheers CHUCKIE F

1986 (P) Passat 1.9Tdi Estate Last autumn, when my onboard 'computer' zeroed itself a few times, it was suggested that I probably needed a new battery. I got one from my local VW stealership and that did the trick. No problems all winter. Until today, when it zeroed itself again. Being as how I probably don't need a new battery this time (:O) any other suggestions? TIA Gilbert

Hi Group, Today I over tightened the nut with the spindle and it snapped, now the nut is with the top bit came off so I can't drive my car under this typical weather! Just wonder if I can buy the spindle assembly on its own, and can anyone tell me roughly how much would be the damage, please? Or any chance I can fix it, I tried the Unibond metal glue, and it didn't work.

Hi, My mk3 Golf has developed an odd problem - the heating fans have stopped working on all but the very last (strongest) position. On the first three settings, nothing happens, but the fourth works fine (but is very noisy and too much for a normal day!). Any clues? Dirty contacts on the switch or something more sinister? Thanks

I have a Passat TDI (110bhp) that i suspect the MAF sensor is playing up, my brother in law has a Passat TDI (90bhp), are the MAF unit the same so I can swap his for mine to see if I can eliminate my lack lustre acceleration around the 3000 rpm mark. Also is there a filter in the air intake unit just before the MAF sensor?? any help please Craig

I have a mk3 Golf Gti 16V. When the car gets warm there is a petrol smell entering ther car from engine bay. I know this because if I turn off the heater blower the petrol smell dissapears. The smell is only evident when the engine is warm and in slow moving traffic. When the car has not reached normal operating temperature or driving at motorway speeds, there is NO petrol smell!!! Hi, I have just changed the rear caliper on my 2001 vw golf tdi, i am having problems with getting the brake pedal to respond, i bleed the brakes by pumping the pedal and i get fluid to come out, although after a few seconds the pedal is soft again. can anyone help please. Cheers
