Anyone any ideas please. While driving, first symptom, glow plug light comes on and engine stops/starts then other odd dashboard warning lights come on, rev counter and other gauges go haywire. Condition worsens so that engine stalls, it restarts easily then stalls again. Cannot simulate whilst parked, engine seems to run OK. I'll be pleased to receive any suggestions. TIA. Dave

Hi, i have a mk3 golf gl 1.8 single point injection, and it seems to lack power, it really is a struggle to accelerate at times, also it feels as if the engine is misfiring alot of the time. The engine also occasionally sounds like it backfires when i let the engine revs drop, ie when i put the clutch in when accelerating, it makes a loud bang that sounds like it comes from around the injector...

I've recenty noticed some tugging axle type tramping on my Corrado when accelerating hard around tight corners (hairpins). Checking the front suspension I noted that the gearbox engine mount is covered in a thick sticky goo and the mount moves up and own very loosely when you lever it. I suspect this is the problem. Since i bought the car a year ago its had a stiff/springy clutch and when depressed makes a creaking noise as if something needs greasing/lubricating. Just driving these new cars with their nice smooth clutches is annoying me. It doesn't stop me from changing gear smoothly so its not a pirority to get it sorted but any pointers would be helpful, thanks.
