Mk5 Golf 1.9 Diesel Match by Jon
Hello everyone, Does anyone have any experience of the above car? I'm looking to order one but would like owners / drivers thoughts before going ahead. I had a MK4 TDi which I loved but any additional help / advice would be appreciated. Thanks,

Driving on the right by David A Smith
Hi All, I hope to take my '06 B6 Passat to Bordeaux during the summer and would like to avoid blinding the foreign drivers with my RHD Left dip headlights. I notice that though they aren't asymmetric like all previous lights they still appear to be biased to the left. The drivers hand book isn't too helpful, just suggesting a visit to my dealer! Ha! Just been to my dealer and its an into...

caravelle t4 timing belt by Keith Barrett[_2_]
Just collected the caravelle from the local garrage after some work. They have pointed out from the service record that the last time the timing belt was changed was in 2003 fifty two thousand miles ago. They told me they would not want to do the work but that vw charge about £500. So, are there special tools required or could I find another garrage that is not a VW dealer to do this?

Can I determine when Passat needs servicing? by Dave[_6_]
We have a Volkswagen Passat 2.o litre sport (petrol, 2002) which has done a little over 80,000 miles. It was purchased recently used and a family member paid for it to be serviced, although a friend of his took it to the garage. We have no record of this, so don't know who serviced it, if they did, or what they did. From what I I have read of the manual, it appears the car tells you when...

CD/radio code unknown - but working OK by Dave[_7_]
We have a Volkswagen Passat 2.0 litre sport (petrol, 2002) which has what I believe are the original CD/radio (mutli-changer takes about 5 CDs). We bought this used and don't know the code for the radio. Whilst it works OK now, clearly removing power from the battery would cause problems. Would a VW dealer be able to supply the code? The car is registered in my wifes name.

Passat, water in footwell by baldiebill
My 2001 Passat 1.9 turbo deisel has huge amounts of water entering the rear footwell from the warm air vent under the drivers seat. I cannot find where it is getting into the heater system. Is there a drain hole on the bulkhead under the bonnet anywhere which may be blocked or can anybody help with advise. -- Message posted using...

Mk 4 Golf TDI 90bhp performance question by Angus Manwaring
Hi guys, My new (to me) Golf TDI 90 bhp, that I was initially led to believe was 100 bhp, but isn't, seems to be pretty flat performance wise. I'm not a boy-racer, and mostly drive in an economical manner, but does the flollowing sound wrong to you? Although the car is quite nippy (by my lowly standards) at low speeds and low revs, in a faster situation its a different story. Even a slight hill

Golf Mk2 Noises ... by Rob[_4_]
Recently returned to the fold after a spell with a Leon Cupra, and got a very nice one owner 1990 8V GTI. Bodywork is mint but mechanically it feels a little tired. Does anyone know what these noises might be: 1. Rubbing noise coming from the front of the car, and sounds like the noise you get when driving over painted sections of road, with a slight vibration coming into the car. Does it...

VAG-COM in Merseyside by KPR
Anybody know of anywhere in Merseyside, preferably Wirral where I could take my Passat for a test using this fault indicator? Turbo is cutting out when accelerating an it needs sorting while I got money to do it. Thanks

K&N 57I on mk4 golf petrol by James[_2_]
I've been pondering on buying some kind of induction kit and this one seems a fair price and I read good things about it. Also adds a nice tone to the engine. Anyone know much about this particular kit and if its worth a punt ? Never actually bought one before so new terriotry tbh.

hose name? by Ears
'90 Golf 8v I had a rough running problem and the car was stalling at intersections and starting hard. I replaced the coolant temp. sensors to no avail. Upon closer inspection I discovered a giant tear in a hose. It's the air hose at the highest point on my motor- on top of the valve cover- it's larger in diameter on one side and travels from a plastic

VW keys: retrieving your SKC? by JB
Does anyone on here have a copy of VAG-Tacho or any other tool capable of retrieving the SKC (secret key code) from my T4? I have VAG-COM and so I can code the new keys to the vehicle, but if only I had the SKC code. I believe this is only the older 4-digit code as it is a '97/98 vehicle with the passive transponder in the key. VW are obviously no use at all. Thanks, JB

Golf CL Umwelt diesel estate (1998) pulling to left by Mandie @k@ Zepherous
The car has pulled to the left since I got it over a year ago but has recently got worse, if I let go of the wheel while positioned to drive straight it sharply veers to the left. Never got round to investigating as too busy keeping up with the overheating and the car killing thermostats I have had the tracking done with no change, the tyres are all good and same size etc.

my "new" Golf Mk 4 by Angus Manwaring
Hi all, I've just got this Golf Mk 4 TDI SE 100 which was quite a big purchase for me, and so forgive my excitement. I feel a bit of a traitor getting rid of the '94 Mk 3 which has been a good friend, but I think it was the sensible thing to do, with the leaking crank case seal and so on. Anyway, all seems well so far (touch wood) but the stereo is pretty much

FS: VW Polo (6N) Heated Washer jet by Doki
I bought this in the hope that it's the same fitting and size as the heated jets for my MK2 Golf. It's not. If anyone wants it, they can have it for the £4.50 I paid for it. Genuine VW bit, £12 so at a dealer.

Oil leak and belt contamination Mk3 Petrol. by Angus Manwaring
Hi all, My '94 Golf 1.8 petrol (Mk 3) has been leaking oil over the last couple of weeks, and I got a chap to have a look at it today. He thinks the problem is behind the the cam belts covers, on the left of the engine as you look at it. His garage contact told him there is an oil thingy (valve?) behind it which tends to leak, and he'll fix it. But the oil has got on to the belts and they...

Heavy Clutch? by DekHog
My daughter has what she describes as a 'heavy' clutch - women talk! What she actually means is the clutch pedal has suddenly went from being easy to depress to being much harder and stiffer to move - it was ok all day, then she parked it up for a couple of hours and when she went back to it this is the way it was - can anyone throw some light on what this might be for me? TIA
