Touran tire wear. by
chillypenguin
I have a '04 Touran (130ps TDi) with 15500 miles, and the front tires need
replacing, already!
Does any one else suffer tire wear like this on the Touran.
The manufacture recommended tire pressure are a little high, and the wear
Patten on my tyres is consistent with overinflation.
I do a large amount of motorway driving, could this as cause the premature
wear?

Couple of daft mk2 Qs by
Rob
Hi - I posted a while ago about mk2 GTI poor performance. Since then I've
replaced the tappets (vast improvement to engine smoothness and noise!),
leads, plugs, 'cap and 'arm.
I've got a problem. The car starts on the button, idles fine, but has this
curious flat spot after about 1200 rpm, where it seems to be hunting, and
then picks up about 3000rpm, where some but not all of the engine...

Vanagon Westy May have cracked or warped heads by
DryDockDave
I have an 83 Westfalia. I'm losing coolant with no external
visible indication. How can I determine or, if the Godz be with me,
eliminate warped heads as the culprit? I don't have the white exhaust
symptom. What other symptoms/indications can I expect? What is the
troubleshooting procedure I should follow.
TIA,
Dave

Passat Noise query/help? by
Rakster
Hi,
I have a 2003 1.9 TDI SE.Its' only done 14000 miles. I was replacing
the existing head unit with my own over the week-end. Now, when I turn
the ignition just once pryor to starting the engine, i can hear a
noise like a clock ticking over. I can't recall the noise being there
before. I can't think what I could have disturbed to cause the noise
(only replacing a head unit). I have tried...

Help with oil pressure light problem by
Bruce Noah
We have a 1983 Rabbit built in the US plant. 1.7L gas engine with manual
transaxle. Recently the oil pressure light has started coming on when the
engine is cold when running at high RPM's. When you shift to the next higher
gear it goes off, except in 4th when it comes on at about 50 MPH. After the
engine warms up, the light doesn't cpme on anymore.
I asumed that maybe the oil pick up screen was...

paddy
Hi all,
I've been a corrado lover for a long time but now is the first time
ive been able to afford one, so I've decided to go for the 1.8 16v for
many reasons including insurance, performance, cost, mpg, and mainly
because its suitable to my needs. Although i do think that as its the
entry level corrado, i accept a lot of them will have seen better
days.

1996 Golf 1.9 TDi by
ian
Just aquired a 1.9 TDI Golf at the weekend and had my first relatively long
runs out in it (~ 40 miles). On a couple of occasions the engine has cut
out. This only seems to have happened when the engine had obviously warmed
up fully. Is this indicative of any specific problems ? Can anyone offer
some suggestions before I contact the seller so I can at least sound
knowledgable ?
FYI from receipts...

Driver side rear door not unlocking on Passat - expensive problem? by
MarkF
Hi folks.
I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem to the one that
reared its head a few days ago on my 1999 VW Passat. The drivers side rear
door will not unlock, even manually. I am assuming the central locking
device/motor for this door has died (or something) - and was interested to
hear if anyone can advise me of cost etc of repair.
Many thanks.

Rich mixture at idle by
TP
My 1991 Audi 100 (A6 shape) 2.8 V6 is running rich at idle.
It is fine at normal speeds as the fuel consumption is excellent -
over 30 mpg on a run. But at idle it hunts and the exhaust smells of
unburnt fuel. The hunting is worse when stationary in D (Drive); it
is less severe (but still noticeable) in N (neutral). There is also
some slight backfiring on the overrun.
I have recently changed...

mk3 roof lining by
mk
Hi
An "ex" friend of mine put his oily f*$%&!g sunroof frame (we collected from
the scrap yard) through the beige coloured interior roof lining of my
beloved VW GTi (with sunroof) yesterday. He left me to discover it for
myself this morning as I never noticed it yesterday.
Although the hole is not very big, I am not very happy and want to know
about replacing it. I know I can probably get...

Jetta Front Arches by
Oddjob
Hello everyone,
I have a VW Jetta GX with the black plastic front arch covers. Only problem
is that one of them had to be ripped off, so I need to put it back. I don't
want to drill and pop rivet (could create corrosion) I was thinking about
gluing it back on??
Any suggestions for the type of glue to use?
many thanks

'90 mk2 Golf fr bumper.... by
Chris
Hello ppl,
I have just bought my first golf, a '90 GTI 16v 4dr. I bought it very
cheaply as it was a cat D write-off due to it needing a new drivers door
(!!?) and the front bumper has a broken fixing bracket on the passenger
side. In all other respects its an excellent car. A new battery and
expansion tank hose have got it up and running without any hiccups.
Regarding the MOT I dont...
