Missing fusebox info by
Tim Downie
I had recent problems with my washer when I discovered that my handbook
wasn't much use for identifying fuses and that my VW Touran (06) seemed to
be missing a sticker identifying the fuses next to the fusebox. (It was a
mechanic at the dealer who told me that there ought to be one).
I aked the main dealer about this and they've come back to me with the story
that the Touran isn't supplied...

Anything I should be aware of? by
Ian
MkV Golf GTI 2005
Coming up to 24 month service.
I got a grinding noise from the power steering just started... anyone know
if this is common? ( not worried, as such, as it will be a warranty repair,
if required)
Not much of anything else to worry about other than that...anyone know of
common problems I should get checked?

2001 mk3F Polo door trim removal query by
Bill
hi
Can anyone tell me how to remove the internal trim panel from the
driver's side door?
I've managed to find and undo all the clips around the edge of the
trim panel, but the door grab handle still seems to be well and truely
secured. I tried carefully levering off what looks like a cover on
the whole length of the grab handle but didn't get very far at all.

MK2 Golf GTI rear brakes by
Doki
Any clues on how to undo the top carrier bolt? If I'm looking at the right
bolt, it's hidden away under a bracket for the brake line, and is very
difficult to get to. And any other tips on changing the disks would be
nice - did I ought to change bearings whilst I'm at it?

Remote central locking fault by
Rick[_2_]
On my 98 golf tdi the remote central locking has started to play up.
It works ok for a while and then the remote fails to respond so I have
to use the key.
After a while the remote will then work ok again and then will not fail
again until probably the next day.
Vw dealer advised me to try new batteries (not cured fault) then said to
try a
new key and remote so I paid £147 for the new one.

Last week someone kindly decided to break the passenger side wing mirror on
my Golf, the whole thing is cracked - glass and casing (I hope he gets the

Is this an easy fix - can I just get a replacement from a breakers or will I
need to take it to a repair shop?
Thanks for any tips

Touran electrical problem with wipers by
Tim Downie
My 06 2.0 tdi Touran has developed an electrical problem with the wipers.
Ths morning, the washers stopped working and the rear wiper started working
intermittantly even when it was switched off. Suspecting some computerised
electrical gremlins, I got the main dealer to have a look at it.
After half an hour they said it was just a blown fuse and I was kicking
myself for not having checked...

VW Lupo 16V Cambelt & Brake fuid Change by
Chris Bartram
I contacted a local garage a couple of weeks ago about a cambelt & brake
fluid change on SWMBO's Lupo Sport 16V (AFK 100bhp engine). I don't have
the time or facilities to do that myself, and it's overdue really- the
car has only done 40k miles but is 7 years old. The fluid has been
changed before, but not in the last 3-4 years.
The alarm bells rang slightly when they insisted that there's...

Searching for color code - Golf GTD 1988 by
DerGolf
Hello NG.
I just bought a beat up Golf GTD from 1988 (maybe 1989 model)
The color is blue metallic.
There is no servicebooklet. And the sticker in the back off the trunk is
also gone.
Can anybody point me to a site where i can compare my cars color with some
pictures or color charts.
I'm shure it is a standard color for the GTD off this year.
Greeting from Denmark.

Polo 02 reg rear fog lights always on by
Simon Finnigan
Hi all,
got a problem with an 02 reg Polo SDI, with the rear fog lights being
permanently on. Both sides, as soon as the side lights go on the fogs go on
full. The brake lights work fine, and the light to turn on the rear fogs
turns on the tell-tale light on the dashboard, but makes no difference to
the lights being shown on the rear of the car.
Is this a common problem, any ideas where to...

52 plate Passat leaking a small amount of clear fluid by
Simon Finnigan
Hi all,
yep, I`m having bad luck with cars at the moment :-) My Passat has suddenly
started leaking a clear liquid from the front nearside. In the course of 10
hours it`s dripped about half a tea spoon full, but obviously any fluid leak
is bad. The leak is coming out underneath the windscreen washer fluid
bottle, but could also easily be coming from a pipe to/from the radiator -
it`s...

MK3 Golf D to a TD?.. by
Rogue
Hi,
I have a P reg MK3 golf D.
Lovely car, immaculate inside and out. only problem is the lack of
power.
Now I used to have a straight D a while ago and this car seems to have
less power in the 3000rpm and above range.
So my question is this.. anyone know if it's possible to upgrade the
engine to a TD?
if so what kind of work would be involved?.

Trim removal 2003 3dr Polo by
Oscar
Hello,
Has anyone removed the rear side trim panels in one of these cars, I'd
like to fit rear speakers but can't work out where to start to get
these panels off, don't just want to start pulling and damaging them.
Do the rear seats need to come out ?
Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks

Golf Plus by
JungleBoy
Borrowed a Golf Plus 105bhp curtesy car while the Golf was in the garage having the rear electric
window fixed. The Plus doesn't look too exciting and the 105bhp is a bit like a wet lettice. The
dashboard appears very high. If you like big hats you shouldn't have a problem wearing it whilst
driving the Plus.

Wanted:VW / MK2 Golf Bits by
Doki
Specifically, I'm in dire need of the plastic pins that fit into the bumper
hangers on 90 spec onwards golfs (and probably MK3s, and any other VAG car
from this era, as I've lost a couple.
And a rear quarter panel moulding for a 90 spec MK2 GTI (3 door) for the
driver's side.
Reply address is valid.
