VW tow bar electrics - intermittent fast left indicator
If you ever have a problem with intermittently fast indicators and the car
has a tow bar and electrics fitted then the culprit could be the relay unit fitted in the wiring loom that drives the buzzer unit. This happened to me recently. This problem seemed to confuse the VW mechanics who replaced all the working indicator bulbs with new ones. In the end I took the car to a tow bar specialist who replaced the very expensive VW/Audi wiring loom with a nice cheap one with a working relay.
