Default Driving on the right

Hi All,
I hope to take my '06 B6 Passat to Bordeaux during the summer and would like
to avoid blinding the foreign drivers with my RHD Left dip headlights. I
notice that though they aren't asymmetric like all previous lights they
still appear to be biased to the left.

The drivers hand book isn't too helpful, just suggesting a visit to my
dealer!

Ha! Just been to my dealer and its an into workshop job for the correct
piece of paper/masking tape to be fitted. It appears that there is a special
perspex cover to fit at the same time or to help correct aleignment. It also
depends on the lamp manufacturer too!
Whoosh there goes another arm and leg.
No it bloomin isn't, there is a do-it-all stick on thingie from Halfords at
£6.99.
Does anyone have better suggestion than workshop or the one size fits all
from Halfords please.

Dave

I had the plastic covers fitted to my Golf V when I bought it new, mainly
for the protection of the lamp units.

You get a couple of masks with the kit, and the plastic covers have little
markings to assist alignment of the
masks.

I guess it's a personal choice, I prefer the extra protection provided by
the plastic covers anyway, so I get the
'continental' conversion for free as far as I'm concerned.

The Halford's kits provide similar masks, but I think they are generic and
require trimming to suit, but they are
much cheaper, essentiall they are "sticky backed plastic'.

I have seen 'non dealer' plastic covers, which are cheaper, but speaking
from experience fitting can be a bugger,
hence the reason I opted to have them dealer fitted.

Hope this helps.

Thanks JH.
I had bought plastic covers for my Laguna and think it would be worthwhile
with the Passat. I will try a local VW specialist to see if they have the
genuine article.
