Default 1984 GL5 passat fuel pump noise

Hi

Had no problems, but yesterday night brim fulled the tasnkl and now the pump
is noisy, should I be worried or is there any history of noise with
full/emtpy tanks.

Its a 5 pot FI with K-Jetronic FI.

Thanks

Tony

I've no idea about the passat, but on the mk2 golf, the fuel pump being
noisy was a sign of the lift pump had failed, so the main pump struggles
on its own. Replace the (cheap) lift pump and all is well, if the main
pump goes it is a much bigger bill.
