Default VW Golf Mk 4 Heater Not Hot Only Warm

I have a black GTI 2.0 2000 plate vw golf. I have had it through the summer
and the a/c works well on cold but I have noticed now coming to the winter
months that the interior heater will at best only blow out warm air and
not hot. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I need to repair/fix?
Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Thankyou

I'm assuming the engine gets up to temperature OK?

You could have a faulty motorised flap. They do sometimes stick.
Unfortunately the easiest way to find out is with VAG-COM- I can't
remember exactly where the flap is.
