"Chuckie Finzter" wrote in message news ![]() Hi all, Could anyone out there tell me how to reset the service indicator on my 01 Golf? Thanks in advance. Well I found two ways via Google search With the key out of the ignition find and press the odometer reset button (hold down) Turn the ignition on (warning lights come on) wait about 10-15 sec until most or the lights are off (still pressing odometer reset button) Turn ignition off (button still pressed) and remove the key Release reset button Interval should now be reset. ---------------------------------------- Press and hold Right Hand button Switch ignition ON. The word "SERVICE" will appear in the trip recorder display. Release Right Hand button Turn Left Hand button to the right to reset the display. Switch ignition OFF. |

Regards CF Worth pointing out that once you use this method, the service indicator will switch to mileage mode. By default, the car determines when it thinks it needs a service based on the number of cold starts, distance, time and probably a few other metrics. Once you reset it using the odometer button it will only indicate a service is required based on the mileage and time as per the manual (10k miles or 1 year or whatever it is on your model.) |
