Made a start today on renewing cambelt on an AQM diesel engined model.

The righthand insulation tray (VW parlance - I'd call it a plastic lower
inner wing panel) needs to be removed to allow improved access.

Is there any "nice" way of removing the two spring clips (clamping washers
VW call them), or is it a matter of "brutalisation" to remove them, with
renewal if required on replacement of the panel.

I realise that one of the three fasteners is a screw and can be removed by
the usual means.
