I have a 2001 Jetta VR6, my check engine light went on last night (sat).
Probably not a good sign. Today I was filling the gas tank and also under the hood filling the washer fluid. I heard a noise that sounded like a percolating coffee maker. Anyone have any ideas on what I might be in for?? Tomorrow's Monday and I'll have to take it in, but hoping for ideas of what it might be. Thanks! |

Thaks for the reply. Is this something that could be an expensive fix??

It's some sort of pump that runs on after the engine has stopped. Can go for quite a while. I'd get it checked to be safe as if the engine does overheat and warp the cylinder head they are apparently very difficult/impossible to skim so you'd have to shell out for a new/recon head. |
