Replacing car stereo in 03 Polo

There is one gotcha, most VW/Audi cars have the permanent and ignition switched lives the wrong way round (as do some Vauxhalls). Most modern stereos have a loom that can be swapped about to accomodate this. The main cables will probably just fit, but you may need an antenna adaptor.
