Default Golf 4 Panel Lights

My 1999 Mk4 Golf has an instrument panel light, just under the 20mph
mark on the dial out. Does anyone know if it's a bulb that can be
changed or is the whole unit sealed with LED type lights. If it's
changeable, how easy?

Not sure about what kind of light is behind it, but I believe it can be
replaced from memory. But you have theres a lot of muckin about with the
dash removal first I think on a mk4 although I am not 100% on this.

Don't think you need to remove the whole dash to remove the instument
cluster. I am 99% certain the cluster can be removed in isolation.

I think, if you remove the upper steering cowl you will find 2 torx screws
at either edge of the cluster, remove these then pull the unit out, taking
care to remove the connector blocks from the back.
