40Kw, Polo coupe S engines - 55Kw? whats the engine code for polo coupe S

mrk2 polo coupe S cars (1989 this one )do NOT have an MH engine in them?
Yes/No ??

i actually posted a cross reference for this before and have lost the damn
thing. Please help me out. Moral of question is : mrk2 polo coupes from 1988
onwards. whats the engine codes across the ranges and BHP ( eg, polo coupe S
= GK engine - 55bhp?) example only

I did thanx dave. They appear to be convinced that all the 1300 mrk2s are
55bhp. Thats not the case n i had the reference guide before. (not the one i
posted in here) but one with BHP included in it. Think it was local VW a
went into for a printout if a remember rightly n they gave me it. Engine
codes, year, models, limited editions n BHP included up to 1990. It doesnt
really matter now anyway. I was double checking a car i went to see in
leicester. It was advertised in polo forum as a MINTER. It turned out it was
one of worst cared for polos i have seen. Although most body panels were in
original and shiney condition there were dents all over it guy didnt mention
before i went to see it and pictures were carefully taken to hide as many as
possible. It was a real bucket!

if u follow that post hopefully it will put anybody else off wasting time
and money going to buy it considering the guy wants £495 for it. He went
lower but it wasnt enough.A will probably go back into VW for the reference
sheet again and maybe throw it onto a ftp for reference for people for a
while. Handy.
