The auto robs quite a bit of mpg as the combined figure for the manual is 51mpg! HTH That's quite a penalty. Does anyone here have a 2.0 TDi DSG who could post some real-world figures? I get 42 City/49 Highway in my 99 Jetta TDI Manual |

I managed 44-46ish from a 2.0 TDI Audi A3 with DSG box.

k... That's quite a penalty. Does anyone here have a 2.0 TDi DSG who could post some real-world figures? Rather belated reply, since I have only just needed to brim the tank for the second time for accurate figure ;-) Brand new Sk*d* Octavia Combi 2.0 TDi DSG bought mainly because it's an economical way of getting that powertrain, recorded 39.8 mpg (calculated, showed 41.4 on computer), over mixed driving while taking it gently to run in. Now showing 48-49 on a decent run. If I remember, I'll update group after a few months. This is my first diesel car, and so far I really, really like the DSG, but the engine is inevitably noisier than my previous Passat V6 Syncro (back on topic). Passat averaged 26.93 (calculated, always brim to brim - call me anal if you wish) over 114k miles. On original clutch, BTW. Awesome car, but awesome bill when waterpump failed. Steve |
