Hi
What is the best method of holding the camshaft still in a 89 Mk2 while removing its sprocket bolt. My car manual only says "Devise a method to prevent the camshaft turning and remove the sprocket bolt" which is not a lot of use. I was thinking of jamming a spanner through one of spokes in the sprocket but this may damage it. Any help would be appreciated. |

That's pretty much what Haynes suggests! It works.
