Tyres last no time at all no matter how expensive they are, spent a

That'll probably be because the more expensive the tyre, the softer the
compound and the higher the level of grips. Get cheap nasty crap and
they'll last for twice as long, however can't guarantee the
effectiveness of holding that corner at the same speed as the rest of
the car is capable of, which could cost more than the difference between
the ****e and the good tyres.

I was doing 400+ miles in a weekend at the time plus 40 a day in the
week so I stuck with Yoko's, just didn't want to risk cheaper tyres
hammering up and down the motorway at speeds I shouldn't have been
doing. ;-)

[1] http://www.jabbasport.co.uk are the respected boys in the trade.

Times have changed, jabbasport have got a very bad reputation on the corrado
forum. They dont do full rebuilds, as in replace *all* the items in the
charger for new bits.

For example, a guy on the forum had his charger serviced at Jabba, and a few
months down the line the charger died because of some problems with the
bearings... Jabba didnt bother to replace them, even though they cost
nothing

Thats just one example, there's plenty of more horror stories about them on
the forum :-/
It seems they prefer tuning 1.8T's nowadays

However 'G-Werks' has got a very good reputation on the forum, nothing but
positive feedback from the G60 owners

It's all very well getting a VR6 but you do need to be sure that its
been looked after as a major problem with them is that cylinder number
1 can show increased wear at around 100k miles if the engine has not
been looked after/warmed up properly before getting driven hard etc.
This problem is very hard to fix without replacing the bottom end!

When i was looking for my corrado a few years ago it took me about 11
months to find a truely clean car and it turned out to be a 16v (its a
2l as i wanted a late corrado so that left out g60's and 1800's). It
was more improtant to me to have a clean fast car than a slightly
tatty faster one. I went to see so many VR's that were advertised as
absolutely mint and they just weren't it got to be quite annoying.

and If your that worried about performance you can without too much
difficulty make a 16v go at least as fast as a VR6. (cams, chip, decat
(which they dont need to pass emmissions)) they are also lighter so
this helps the handling on the limit if your bothered about such
things.

just my 2p worth.
Id still like a clean blue storm tho!

Or there is Pitstop who are the big boys in the smaller world of G40s.
