Hi All,
My 1.6 Golf squeaks from the back wheels when cruising without touching any pedals, it squeaks for a split seconds and has a quite interval of ~1.5 seconds, soon as I put my foot on either the brake or accelerator it disappeared. It starts soon as foot lift of the accelerator. I tried to turn off the ESP but does the same. It's like this from day 1 when the car was bought from new, dealers say they can hear anything, nothing wrong with the brakes but just a bit annoying. Wonder if anyone got the same problem or know what's going on? TIA ~ Chris |

Use Google to check the previous discussions in this group. I had similar symptoms to yours, and particularly noticable at low speeds and when cornering. In my case the problem seemed to be the rear caliper binding slightly. As a result the pads wore prematurely. News pads and cleaning/freeing caliper have fixed things. Charles |
