16v drinking oil mark2 golf
mark 2 16v e reg when you excelerate hard black smoke from the exhaust when
cruising at 70 mph for a long period of time its also drinking lots of oil please help.

Black smoke is usually fuel, ie very rich mixture, oil smoke is normally blue. I had a gasket break down and let oil leak into one of the bores resulting in clouds of blue smoke. Hope I'm not confusing the issue. Dave H
