Valve stem oil seals or piston rings main suspects I would say, I'm inclined to say the latter but could be wrong. If you are using more than a litre per 1000 miles time to start looking for a new (used) engine, or rebuild the current one but it could be very pricey -- Jon Remove "usenetspam" from address above to reply |

Does it belch out smoke when started after sitting for a while? Richard -- Richard . Apples of various varieties. Carstuff - Supra and New Beetle, and happy with just two for once. Black smoke is usually fuel, ie very rich mixture, oil smoke is normally blue. I had a gasket break down and let oil leak into one of the bores resulting in clouds of blue smoke. Hope I'm not confusing the issue. Dave H |
