Dave, I thought you were the font of all knowledge (seriously).

I'd have thought just the usual for the 0.9-1.3 engines (oil leaks,
water pump etc)and the Polo, plus make sure it runs right and has had an
emmission test recently. Didn't the SP injector have a slight reputation
for gettin g blocked up?
Oh yeah, double check the fuel filler for rust (where it bends and
enters the tank). could be nasty in the injection system.
