David....it is your front engine mount. Not too bad to buy and an easy job
if you have a trolley jack. HTH Michael "Barry" barry wrote in message ... I did my front engine mount myself. Not too tricky at all! It cost me about £25 from a local parts factor... HTH Barry "David Speir @blueyonder.co.uk" d.speirnospam wrote in message ... Hi Recently I have noticed that my car 'bounces' and vibrates quite a bit when idling in a stationary position. The way the front head end vibrates up and down makes it look like it should have a huge 5 litre V8 in it (I wish) instead of a 1.8 4cyl. Is this a symptom of worn engine mounts? If so, anyone know how much I should expect to pay to get them renewed? (The car is a 1990 mk2 Golf GTi 8V) TIA Dave |
