My Lupo has just passed three years old and I have been offered the chance
to extend the warranty by Volkswagen Approved Warranty Office for £365 for 1
year or £615 for two years.

Does anyone have an opinion on whether this is a good idea, or any
experience of trying to claim on it, please? Also, is it actually offered
by VW or a franchise?

I bought a warranty from them when our Bora turned 3 years old. It was £230
for a year. You can also pay monthly or buy 1, 2 or 3 years. It will be
substantially cheaper than VW.

I had to make a claim when the aircon compressor failed. They took a little
while to cough up - you have to pay first and them claim it back unless you
go to one of their approved garages - but they did pay the full £900 for the
fix.

I consider it money well spent.
