I have a 1991 Golf Driver 1.8 auto which loses water through the expansion
tank when driven in hot weather. I have replaced the filler cap, thermostat and the 3 pin fan thermoswitch, but still have the same problem. It seems to be that the fan only operates at normal speed and never at boost speed and never for long after the ignition is turned off. Can anybody help? |

Might be worth taking it off & doing some vigorous reverse flushing to try & clear some of the crud out. New rads aren't that expensive if you get them from GSF or Euro Car Parts. AFAIK, there is only one fan speed on the rad fan. |
