Does anyone in the group know whether (theoretically) unplugging the speed
sensor at the engine (so the car does not clock) affects the engine
management anything else on a Bora TDi 1.9 (PD) engine?

Cheers

Yes. I had a golf 3tdi and the "*******" VW garage broke the sensor off
changing the clutch

it became very bad on acceleration and rough over 30MPH.... why were they
*******s, because they stuck it back with blue tack and it cost me two
visits and £180 to get it fix.... Oh no sir, must have been broken...not by
us....no sir....but you are the only "*******" who ever serviced it.... No
could not be us....

you could always look in Excn & Mart get someone to adjust to mileage to a "
correct " reading
