Lupo 1.0 EGR by Chris Bartram
My neighbour asked me to have a look at his daughters Lupo with VAG-COM after the CEL came on, so I've scanned it and got 1 Fault Found: 17852 - Potentiometer for EGR (G212): Implausible Signal P1444 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent I've cleared it and we took the car for a bit of a blast (heh- a 1.0)- it usually does short trips at lowish speed- and the error hasn't come back yet.

Workshop Manual CD-roms by Anon
I purchased a new VW Passat TDi PD estate 2002 model launched Sept 2001 from a local dealer. I have tried to purchase the official workshop manual CD-rom from the dealer who said they could not supply them to me, that I would have to contact VW UK at Milton Keynes. They in turn informed me that I could only obtain them through their dealerships. I have had a look at the Bentley Publishers web...

T4 transporter not starting, V. confused. Please help! by mball
My VW T4 Transporter has began refusing to start. When I turn the key in the ignition nothing happens whatsoever. All the dash lights come on and the coil light goes out after the right sort of time but the engine isn't turning at all. There had been problems with the battery to starter motor cable in the past so I've replaced that but still nothing. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be...

Mk IV golf intermittent electrical problem by Kellerman
I'm trying to help my son fix an intermittent electrical fault on his 1.6 petrol Mk4 golf (R reg). The snag is that he's 250 miles away in Cornwall working for the Summer. The symptoms he's describing fit the "relay 109" fault. Thing is is there such a relay on the petrol Golfs and is it in the fuse box below the steering wheel? His is a standard UK spec right hand drive version. -- Blow my...

Stutter/jolt coming off gas by Pete
My wife just called to tell me something odd is happening with the car, basically when she is accelerating then lets off there is a bit of a jolt not violent but noticeable jolt. The only work done on the car recently was the fuel filter, but there was no problem after that was done (by me) but it was serviced on Friday an only really driven today and she has now noticed. Sadly the mobile...

1998 VW Sharan - cutting out problem by Tymauk
Hi I have a 1998 VW petrol Sharan which has just started to have a really annoying problem. I can start the car cold, drive for a few miles with absolutely no problems. Either 2 things will then happen: 1. I can park the Sharan, turn the engine off try and try to start 5-10 minutes later and it just won't start. Turns over and fires and

mk4 golf drivers side headlight (h7 bulb) by Matthew.Ridges
Mine has blown and I was wondering is this simple job to replace, sounds daft but a chappy at work reckons you have to take the entire front bumper off! to remove the whole thing to do it. I thought it might be possible to do it in situ and just squeeze about behind it and slip it in. Ok I just realise how that sounded reading it back erm.... looks fiddly at best but do-able ? .. any tips...

Golf 4Motion won't start by md1jrw
I wonder if anyone can help me here? The wife's late 2002/early 2003 Golf 4Motion will not start. Upon turning the key, it sounds as though the engine is spinning faster than usual and there is no hint of firing. Prior to this problem, the car was running fine and was a first time starter. There is no recent history of funny noises or anything to give cause for concern. Just to be clear, I'm...
