Dynamo Woes by
mark@uunix.com
Hi all,
I've just come in from the garage a dissapointed man.
I have just replaced the dynamo on my 1976 VW Camper to find it gives
hardly any output whatsoever, which is why I replaced the old one.
I'm not familiar, with dynamos so I had to reference the haynes manual

74 Type 2 Accoustic and Thermal Insulation by
tjvanman
Does anyone know where I can get hold of some 25mm Fire retard
accoustic and thermal insulation, as I have started to restore the old
bus and want to fit some good insulation, rather than the polystyrene
that used to be there

Petrol in engine? by
Marlon
Hi all,
I've had a problem recently with my aircooled VW.
Basically at one point it really struggled to start, and I stopped when
I noticed smoke from the back, so I turned the ignition off & went to
investigate - and found thick grey smoke coming from the exhaust.
I phoned a local VW guy who told me that occasionally an aircooled
VW engine will dump a load of petrol into the sump,...

Anyone offer advice on Brazil-based campers? by
John
There are Type2 campers now on sale based on vans built in Brazil.
Does anyone have experience of these, please.
After being stung by a rogue dealer of used campers a couple of years
ago, I feel ready to buy new and one of these may be a good option.
Any comments would be appreciated

BlueNinjaBiker
Can anybody tell me what, if any, golf seats fit as a straight swap in
a 74 T2 Bay.
Do I also need to replace the subframes as well?
Any other straight swaps?
TIA,
Mark

1967 Beetle spec by
Gareth Edwards
Could someone put my mind at rest and tell me what sort of body should the
1967 Beetle have (UK model)?
Should it have a long bonnet with upright headlamps, and a short engine lid?
I have owned my 1967 Bug for over four years, and I know the previous owner
fitted fibreglass wings with the sloping headlamps, but I cannot remember if
it is supposed to have the long bonnet or not.

Leaky fuel pump by
Su
My 72 bus has been running with a leaky fuel pump for a while (over a year).
I bought a replacement pump off Ebay and discovered that it also leaks at
the same place, ie at the top. On inspection, they both have a slight curve
on the flange of the top cover. Is this by design or is this a
fault/weakness? since the flange is not sitting flat, I cannot see how the
gaskets can keep up. It is...

Can this be welded or replaced? by
Alan Smith
Hi guys hope you can help, got the 1303 out of the garage after about 18
months bought as a project & then stored like so many. Whilst I was
underneath it connecting the towrope I noticed this rust near the
suspension mounting on the nearside.

Steering VW Beetle by
chas
Hi guys I wonder if you can shed some light on my steering.
I have a 1302 S all stock no mods as yet.
I have been down to Cornwall this last week in my van and I have only left
the bug standing for no more than a fortnight tops.
It was all ok when I parked it up but took it out yesterday and there are at
least one maybe two real stiff points in the steering.
How can this just come on like...

1968 Type1 Washer Bottle connections by
Spike
Hi all,
Have started to take a look at my washer bottle in my '68 1500 Type 1 (UK).
(type where you pump up the bottle direct)
I seem to have mislaid (if I ever had it) the fill cap.
I have all the other connections, but can't test the assembly without the
fill cap (I presume).
