Hey all, Was rebuilding my Bocar 34 Pict/3 Carb and seem to have overtightened the volume screw. I never felt it bottom out (so maybe it was done prior to my rebuilding?) and it stripped some of the threads. Does this necessitate a new carb or can in still be adjusted properly, just without the advantage of knowing where it was supposed to seat so I could turn in back out the required 2 1/2...

I am just checking the authenticity of body panels and notice that the 'Semi W' engine lid appears to be like a 1966 (with only part of the top 'W' showing above the light). I have a 1968 Beetle 1300 which has 5553 F - 465232 riveted onto the engine where the engine number should be. Can anyone tell me what this means please as it doesn't seem to match the codes used?
