What's the fastest Tractor? by

Just having random thoughts about a cool RTW trip, and thought I'd ask the
above question. And what sort of mpg would one get out of one?

Pretty rare over these, aren't they? What with them all being LHD and
only offered for sale officially for a short while.

OT. I think our TV is about to go pop. by
Elder
It is a cheap Bush 28" Flat screen CRT we have had for about 2 years.
Bought it from Tesco when the last one blew when we were at a financial
low point and in store it had the best picture for the money.
Every now and again, usually when just switched it it would whistle for
a few seconds. Now though it has been switched on for about 1 hour and
just started whistling. Has been doing it for...

OMG petrol prices. by
Elder
Filled up the Saab with Tesco super, on my normal weekly fill.
And this is the first month since I've had it, that a weekly fill has
been less than £40 for a normal week. It even ran slightly more
economically too.
Hope these prices keep falling, it only has to go down another 5p for
Super to be sub-£1 a litre too.

Big Old RWD Barges by
Bob Sherunckle
Seeimg as all the young dudes seem dead set on buying old rwd motors, I
would like to confess to the following examples of the genre.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6WOkBdZnto&feature=related
You bought one of these if you wanted something like a Capri 2.8i but wanted
rear suspension as well. Mine was NHS 222V - why did I ever sell it...
This was around 1988

I've just done something a bit silly.....
I've just bought another SD1. But this one is a Vitesse Twin Plenum - with
no tax or MoT and has basically stood for the last 3 or 4 years. Bring on
the bankruptcy :)

Made a tiny mod. by
Elder
The cheap £5 phone holder for my car was great for the HTC Trinity
because the power connector for the car charger was at the bottom.
On the Samsung Omnia it is on the lower left side, so I had to cut a
small slot to take the larger Samsung connector.
Not major but worth doing I can kill the battery from fresh charge to
dead in 2 hours using GPS.

The Skoda by
Bob Sherunckle
Bloke contacts me the other night asking, "how much will you take for the
car ?"
Contacted him back saying £400.
He counters with, "sorry, I have only £300, how does that sound?"
I politely refuse saying that I'll let the auction run.
With 6 hours left to go, he is now the highest bidder at £410...

why does my E36 hate me? by
Vamp
i was starting to love my E36 and while i realize that it's possible it
might need a whole set of new discs and pads the other night a new prob came
up.
i had it last winter and it's been fine since but basically i'm getting that
bouncy idle bull**** again!
the revs will drop to i'd say around 500rpm and then raise to bout 900rpm
and then drop again. sometimes it does it once but sometimes...

I'm pretty much set on a W124 probably a 300E Petrol by
Elder
Did consider diesel, but with no TurboD option in the uk, and veg oil
being dearer than 95RON unleaded, and as dear as pump diesel these days,
what is the point.
I found the video I posted before when researching the model not the
other way round.
Fancied a merc for a while as the autoboxes are pretty solid and I miss
the Lexus but don't want the costs of running such a big car/big fuel...
