Solar charging by Carl Gibbs
"Dave Plowman (News)" wrote in message ... In article , Carl Gibbs wrote: There's something wrong if it's more than about 50 mA max - and I'd expect a pretty basic car like the TVR to be less. My SD1 has toys galore on it - most home made - and takes 60 mA....

hot damn, that's ugly. by Douglas Payne
Saw a Panamera today for the first time in the flesh. Various things I read/watched said that it looks better in the flesh than on telly/in pictures. Can't say I agree. This one was white, perhaps that had something to do with it. Blech.

Warrington by Steve Firth
I'm losing track - I forget who it is that lives in Warrington. Whatever. Is the "Cantilever Car Centre" known by anyone up that way? Is it "avoid at all cost"? Their stock list has a vehicle that I want to buy at a knock-down price. I'm just wondering why it's £2k cheaper than the one for sale about 14 miles from my home.

I think I'll be modifying the 9-3... by DervMan
....yesterday a spring broke on the 9-3. That wrecked the tyre, which was moderately interesting. Not too big a deal because the tyres had just dropped below 3mm and I was gonna get them changed at the end of the month anyway. And 9-3s do chew their OEM springs. But wait, this spring was the opposite side to the one that broke at the end of last winter and was supposed to have been...

OT but I know there are a few gamers on here. by Elder
As I will lose use of the Wii because it is hers, what is currently the best console? Will probably end up with more than one, but which one first? Will be playing online as much as by my self, driving games as much as adventure/shooters/hack'n'slash. I know the Wii is more "family" oriented, but are there any proper driving and shooters for it? -- Carl Robson Get cashback on your purchases

Anybody here has a W124 or at least a manual for one? by Timo on tour
Muggings left the manual at home :( I lifted the windscreen wiper up to put something underneath it (prevent it from freezing to the windscreen) and it appears I lifted it too high up and it's 'locked' in the lifted position. No obvious way of unlocking it, so does anybody here know how to do that? It's probably blindingly obvious but it wasn't to me in the middle of a snowstorm.

Musbi****ti by Steve Firth
So, there I was in Portsmouth, following a Mitsubishi FTO. It was being driven really, really badly. All over the road and going for the "slowest acceleration ever" award at each traffic light. In a 50 limit the car barely got up to 30 and that seemed to take forever. The back window had what looked like a 90% tint so very difficult to see what the driver was like. I couldn't get past because...

Warrington has snow. by Elder
Not the five feet deep I remember from scottish winters, but enough to make driving fun for those who care, and dangerous for those who don't. Only about 1" but onto close to freezing roads, and a nice compactable mix of fat fluffies, small hail like pellets like ball bearing and some fine powder. Normally it melts before it has hit, but this time we have slithery side roads and carparks,...
