thought i'd give the old PC an update over the weekend. bought a water cooling kit, new graphics card with 1gb ram on it and a 500gig HDD. my system is only a P4 3Ghz and i don't have much cash so i decided to make best of what i have. i water cooled because my comp has always run hot, actually every comp i've had has run hot except my AMD K6/2 (going back a bit there) my CPU temp has gone...

Oh borrocks by Timo Geusch
It appears that the most reliable two vehicles I own happen to be a Mazda RX7 and a Mazda MX5. Which means I get to drive the RX7 to Switzerland instead of the ****ing A8. Which wouldn't be that bad if I didn't need something with more than 2 seats down there. Grrr. -- '89 Mazda RX-7 Convertible '89 Mazda MX-5 trackday shed '94 Mitsubishi Evo II Audi A8

MOT Time by fishman
This week SWMBO and I have been mostly MOTing our cars. Big Red Merc needed a tyre and the chip in the windscreen picked up on the way home from buying it (doh) was big enough to require a replacement. Fully comp insurance meant this wasn't too expensive. A couple of small spots of welding had to be done in the floorpan/sill area. The MOT place, Autoglass and bodyshop all remarked...

FAO Burgerman by Doki
At work we have a quantity of 12v sealed lead acid batteries used for field kit. Is charging them with a decent car battery charger a sane idea? Can they all be parallelled up to one charger for a float charge? We're currently experiencing the difficulties you'd expect - flat batteries being left flat, sulfated batteries staying in circulation etc.

Tomorrow I am by Bob Sherunckle
Going for welding lessons.... I can already mig weld - but anyone can do that, it'slike painting the bits together. So, tomorrow I am going for a session with a tig welding guru. He's also lending me an inverter setup with tig torch to take home and practice on. Hopefully, this means that I will finally be able to make up these exhaust headers for the bike engine.

156 Selespeed. The first month. by SteveH
The Passat was taken away on Wednesday, but I've been using the 156 for a few weeks now anyway. A few things I've noticed in that time. Late TSparks are quite significantly modified over early cars. The engine bay layout is very different to the one in Mrs H's 'phase 1' saloon. Selespeed isn't half as bad as people would have you believe. Not quite

This week I'm going to look at... by Conor
This week I'm going to look at this: http://s326.photobucket.com/albums/k428/brookiwayne/?albumview=grid Finished article piccies are at the end and there's some underside shots interspersed. It's seriously cheap and it's a far better paint job than mine was. He can't shift it mainly due to where he is and people not being willing

ultimate tow car by Vamp
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8J-4p4BKxiQ different i guess, i love the impala SS prefer the 60's one like the 64 but the 90's saloon looks pretty sweet. DON'T think a 5.7 V8 is a good replacement for my BMW though sadly

I think I'm going to have my spanners cremated by Doki
This weekend I managed to pop a driveshaft out of the gearbox of my daily driver, whilst changing the wishbones. Don't ask me how - if I knew, I'd have not have pulled a driveshaft out, would I? Not happy...

Sunroof musings. by Pete M[_4_]
Personally, I can't abide sunroofs in cars, I'd much rather have AC and headroom instead. Just looked out of the window at the three cars in my sig and noticed a recurring theme. Three cars outside - all with electric sunroofs, arrgh. --
