FS: VW Polo (6N) Heated Washer jet by
Doki
I bought this in the hope that it's the same fitting and size as the heated
jets for my MK2 Golf. It's not.
If anyone wants it, they can have it for the £4.50 I paid for it. Genuine VW
bit, £12 so at a dealer.

As one or two of you already know, I will be becoming the proud owner
of a new (1) Peugeot 207 1.6 VTi Sport at the end of the month, and so
I will be getting rid of the Fabia.
If I've no success selling it on privately, I'll be trading it in on
the day.

Suzuki Vitara by
Carl Gibbs
Anyone know much about these?
My sister is after a new car, because she's basically wrecked the 205 I
bought her 18 months ago. She works with horses and so generally carts a
load of gear around down bumpy, muddy tracks and she has very litte
mechanical sympathy, so I was after something a bit more rugged. I've been
looking at small ish hatchbacks again for her, but then saw a Vitara on...

Well, that coulda been bad... by

Got a man in tonight (mate of a mate, builds kit cars/motorsport things -
works for a Pug main dealer during the day - don't worry he mocks their
practices heh) to change the engine oil in the Vee, and the gearbox oil
whilst he was down there. Engine oil was 7k oil, and was Castrol 10w40 -
swapped it out for some nice Silkolene 5w40 (the more commonly recommended
grade) and changed the...

And today, I've been mostly holding up the traffic at Brands Hatch by
Timo Geusch
First ever trackday I attended. I managed to avoid using the MX-5 as
earth moving equipment, although I did have a couple of brown trouser
moments when I overcooked it at Paddock Hill Bend. But I didn't spin
the car :).
It was a lot of fun, although it did show that the suspension has a few
miles on it. Brakes (original 1.6 disks with uprated, non-EBC pads) were
fine, didn't get any fade but...

How's your year been then ? by
Bob Sherunckle
Well, it's traditional to think along these lines at this time of year, is
it not ?
High Points / Low points.
Good
One of my mates beat a life threatening illness. That was good.
Drove a proper American car, in America. That was also good.
Had some cracking nights at the track - they were all good.
Built a garage for my Sylva - that was really good.

Vel Satis or Aventime, would you? by
carl.robson@gmail.com
Seeing as everyone seems a bit francophile when it comes to cars on
here, what do you reckon?
With an Alfa like depreciation curve, they are pretty low for their
age, and they look a bit like a megane on lard. The Aventime
particularly looks nice in a "French for space age" kind of way,
especially the interior.
OK, so it is petrol again, but should be a bit better than the grey
whale if not...

Hello? Anyone home? by
Richard Kilpatrick[_2_]
Hello!
I've been useless with newsgroups lately. But I thought I'd pop in and
say hello...
The RX8 goes back next month, and it's being replaced with a 10 year old
MR2 GT T-bar. I'm off to Birmingham in the medium term (still fixing
this place up), and currently have far too many cars including a shared
MX5 with my girlfriend (who also has a Golf and an A160) and a Delica
2800TD.

Oi, Depresion by
Doki
Are 6N washer jets the same as MK2 ones? Please say yes.
And, my mum's 6N 1.4 (94 or 95 at a guess, can't remember really) won't
tickover right. Stalls when you dip the clutch. Have these got an ICV or is
the a stepper motor controlling the throttle to give tickover?

Me
Going to look at one at the weekend. My firm's relocated and I have 40 miles
per day to travel just for work and only get 20mpg from the Scoob.
Not expecting blistering performance, but stats are not that bad for a
diesel.
Anbody have any ownership / driving experience?
