Vamp
got a prob with my dvd writer and it's starting to really **** me off!
i'm not trying to burn a dvd but it does the same thing when i've tried it.
basically all i'm doing is puting MP3's onto a cd.
i normally use the ****ty windows xp to copy the files to a data cd and this
has always worked ok but now i always get a message saying the cd is
unwritable. which it isn't because i've always used...

bloke didn't buy the Celsior, so I'm considering a chop in. by
Elder
Local "Home Trader" has a T plate 9-3 diesel with 144k partial history,
and full SE spec for £1800.
http://smallr.com/2p5
Might see if he will give me anything at all off it for the Celsior.
For what I will save in fuel, it is worth a punt. Sure it will be
tractor like, but it won't cost a mortgage payment each month to fuel,
and do just about all I need except be an auto.

[OT] Crap joke robbed from elsewhere by
Iridium
One day a 12-year old boy was walking down the street when a car pulled up
beside him and the window was wound down.
"I'll give you a bag of lollies if you get in the car", said the male
driver.
"No way, get stuffed", replied the boy.
How about a bag of lollies and £10?" asked the driver

Brake disc drilling by
Carl Gibbs
Evening all
I want to get the bolt pattern on some brake discs altered i.e. re-drilled
to a different PCD. Where the hell do I find somewhere to do this? Google
hasn't been much help and TBH I'm not sure what I need to be looking up in
the yellow pages.
Cheers

VW keys: retrieving your SKC code? by
JB
Does anyone on here have a copy of VAG-Tacho or any other tool capable of
retrieving the SKC (secret key code) from my T4? I have VAG-COM and so I can
code the new keys to the vehicle, but if only I had the SKC code. I believe
this is only the older 4-digit code as it is a '97/98 vehicle with the
passive transponder in the key. VW are obviously no use at all.
Thanks,
JB

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/317922.htm
ok so picking it up might be a prob and i doubt it gets the even close to
the celsior on fuel, probably a lot worse but it does look kinda cool!
plus sensible doesn't really suit you :)

Brake disc post may have been pointless by
Carl Gibbs
Because I've gone and spent my money on an 18v Snap On Impact Gun :D
May come back to the brake idea later on though, so thanks for your replies
still :)

Experiments with Biodiesel by
Abo
Just found out where's a couple of places near our Lytham office wot do
biodiesel. And since I drive over there and back once a week I thought
I'd give it a go, so on the way home last night I filled up at 93p/litre
instead of 109p/litre :)
That's nearly a tenner less per tankful...
Note to self: buy new fuel filter ;) And some jerry cans so I can fill
up at home.

Air Compressor Recommendation by
DervMan
I need (want, meh) an air compressor, but I don't want to make the mistake
of both of my neighbours in buying a 12v unit that manages to inflate a car
tyre in an hour then fails after a few months of use.
Can anybody recommend a solution? Mains, 12v, rechargeable, it doesn't
matter just so long as it works and works well...

Suspension bushes by
Doki
It's occured to me that I don't really understand them.
MK2 Golf TCAs / wishbones look like this:
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m65/golfgti8v_2006/DSC05896.jpg
Not my photobucket, so not may trainers, duvet or purple bush.
Now, I can understand the ones at the front. They're just pivots, and could
me made of near enough anything AFAICS.

OT: Paging Passat fans and VAGisti. by
Douglas Payne
I have water coming in the rear doors of the Passat I am custodian of:
http://snipurl.com/1xwkv
http://snipurl.com/1xwl0
(snipURLs to plain jpgs on some hosting of mine)
The water seems to run in the door and fill up the rear footwells on
both sides. Eventually it floods the CCM and weird stuff starts to
happen with the windows and lights. Towels are the order of the day at
the moment but...
