SWMBO is doing the "We should get a newish new car" thing again. So just to
make my argument totaly water tight what can you get these days for £10K -
£15K That meets or exceeds these specs and is under a year old.
0-60 in 5.5 secs,
0-100 in 13.5 Secs
60 - 0 in 2.8 seconds
Big enough to fit a dining table and chairs in with the seats down

Warping discs by
Bigus
When I had my Rover 620SLi, I warped the standard front discs within a
matter of months, which caused lots of juddering when braking. Within 6
months of getting the Ti and some shiny Tar-Ox discs, I had warped those
too. At the moment I'm back on the original Rover discs, but I'm getting
concerned about warping these too cos I'm not sure what it is I'm doing
that's causing them to warp or whether...

brake fade!!!! by
Vamp
never had this till tonight, was bashing the old brakes a bit down the A12,
90mph to 50mph can really heat them up hehe, also had to brake hard again
for a lorry pulling straight out on me, when i got to my slip road and brake
for the roadabout they'd faded badly!
took it easy and they were back after i layed off them a bit, what's the
best (and cheapest) way to stop this?

Just Back From Le Mans by
SteveH
450-ish miles, 35 minutes on the tunnel, and 140 miles of filtering the
bike in the ****ing rain on the M25 and M1 :-(
Had a great time there - good food, good beer and friendly people.
Spent a day visiting the Le Mans museum and track - there's a huge range
of interesting road and race cars and bikes in there - and a large part
of the track is open to the public (it's actually part of the main...

Fog lamps and Driving Lamps Question by
Gecko
Going to swap my standard Ford Escort front bumper for one with the fog
light holes, this is a genuine Ford front Bumper minus the lights, now my
wife wants the lights in, but I was wondering is it possible to set these up
to be drive lights for night time driving, high beam only rather then fog
lights.
This will save me wiring the damm things into the dash, as I intend to wire
them into the...

Insurance renewal question... by
Andy
I was just thinking about this situation with my renewal just around the
corner...
I'm insured at the moment with a company - who's insurance I got from their
website, which offers a 5% discount for buying on-line, and there is
probably a new business discount in there somewhere too.
I've checked on the site to get a rough idea what my renewal should be (or
what a new policy would cost me if I...

Can I be a Boy Racer Now??? by
**-**
Cause I'm putting fibreglass bumpers on the Saab. Well actualy its the Saab
Carlsson kit, but rather that doing it in the normal way of bonding the
original foam bumper inners to the fibreglass shell I'll be using a
honeycomb ally structure to support the shell, lighter (bout 4 kilos a
bumper if my maths right) and stronger. Its also got the added benefit of
allowing me to properly flat bottom...

Front Spoiler vs Wider Wheels by
Dalesgate
I have a MCC Smart Car which has big problems with motorway crosswinds.
Which would improve its stability (forget looks, cornering etc) on the
motorway the most:
Front Spoiler / Side Skirts or wider wheels?
Regards
Andy

OT: That Monitor on Ebay, and the COD issue. by
MeatballTurbo
The seller stopped answering my emails, and ignored my MSN messages,
including those with suggestions as to how we could sort this.
In the end I mailed them and told them the deal was off, and left bad
feedback. I didn't like to do it, but I was getting cold shouldered.
Shame really, a 12" TFT would have really shown up the GPS data nicely
at 800x600.

Land Rover Tomcats by
Douglas Payne
Today at work I had the luck to happen upon a chap who does Hill Rallying.
He showed me a couple of the tomcats he builds and races himself.
Unfortunately my digital camera took the opportunity to run out of
batteries. I was not impressed.
Anyway, since it's late and I've been at work for a considerable length of
time today (yesterday) I just thought I'd say how impressed I was at...
